The Party is on Sunday 30th December at a small private cottage in Baxenden.

It is £30 for single males, £15 for single females and £30 for couples. To cover costs.

A full buffet, soft drinks and tea and coffee are provided. You are asked to bring your own alcohol.

The theme is of course fetish. Antone with no fetish wear is expected to make an effort with all black being the minimum.

Please note this is not my party but that of close friends. I help with promoting them.

8.30pm until late with the option of staying over just bring bedding and find a spot. Breakfast provided for early risers.

Yes it's The Cottage. It is advertised in 3 sections on the forums. It is invitation only which you get through myself if you are seriously interested in the Fetish scene.

I have sent you mail funbythesea...It's the same place you came to for my birthday party.

The Cottage has a fully equipted dungeon for your use and hundreds of pvc, leather, latex dresses, corsets etc as well as wigs, masks, boots for you to borrow from if you want to. The buffet is huge and extensive including joints of meat not just a "sausage on a stick". And also a very well stocked bar that you are asked to make a contribution to.

I am confused. Is the contribution to the bar on top of the entrance fee ? Or is it possible to buy drinks there instead of bringing your own?

Why do peoiple bitch and whin about something they clearly have no knowledge of. Go to Chams and you'll pay the same prices under the same deal (extra for a decent meal though).

Single guys are charged more because there's more of them who want to go and too many single guys make it a very one-sided evening. If they don't pay over the top to get in then you tend to attract the less serious ones who make arses of themselves (and upset the limited female guests who go).

Everyone is entitled to make a buck or two and The Cottage looks very impressive (not been but have seen it online). All that costs money to stage and life ain't free.

If the Fet scene isn't for you why spoil it for people who do want to go by making snide comments?

The Cottage is not a licenced premises so we do not sell alcohol. There are a great many regular kinksters attend who respect the rules of a bar contribution. We have no complaints and the people on here that deem it unfair in any way are the sort of people who we don't want there.

The parties have been a monthly event for over 7 years and are very popular hence them being invitation only.

Feel free to ask for an invitation. Seeing the equipment and clothes alone will help you understand the costa involved and that doesn't include the buffet the overnight stay and breakfast

I am not sure that charging single men more is any guarrantee that they would be any more 'suitable'. If they turn up in a flash motor splashing the cash then they could still be 'unsuitable'. Why not allocate a set number of tickets for singles so you are not swamped?

It is not about how much money they have. We have people coming from all backgrounds and proffessions who are interested and understand the alternative lifestyle.

Sorry to say but a lot of single men think our parties are gang bangs or sex parties. They are not. They are fetish parties for serious fetish people.

Hello Dani, now we reconise you and the venue,

We have been and can say we had a great time there, it was well stocked and the food was good and plenty of it.

As in the people who attended they was great everyone seemed to get along, and as we were new they made us feel welcome

As in the single males being charged more its the same every where, and to be honest it used to be alot dearer abit back ago at all venues, and to be honest since entrance and cheaper memberships have been brought in we have noticed a difference and thats why one of the reason we started to go to the fetish scene more than the swinging scene, less males and more respect, and is the main reason why we aviod going to most clubs unless its a couple only night, Single guys pestering or following you around wanking, standing around not even trying to chat but as soon as you go a play room there in thinking they can join in, ok thats not all single men, but theres a difference we believe in swinging singles and single men trying to get a quick cheap fuck,

I have had a great response from some into the scene and there will be some new faces there on Sunday as well as the regulars.

So if you vet everyone, why the extra cost for single males? If it's not to limit numbers surely it is just exploiting them? And i'm active enough on the fet scene to know that it's not all events that do this.

It is Barry's policy. He owns the Cottage and has his rules. To be fair it has stood us in good stead. In over 7 years we have had very little problems with anyone. One or two have not been invited back.

To be fair, the risk of hosting an equipped fetish venue is that people keep stealing the equipment. This is very expensive to replace. I read a thread that someone stole the sling from a club recently. All it does is piss off the owners and push the costs up.

Now i dont really feel the need to justify our charges but for those of you with either very tight and deep pockets or alternatively no experience of attending fetish events( and i wonder why that would be )i.ll explain how it works.

There isnt a weekend fetish play event that i know of that charges less that £10 and at The Cottage in addition to that there is a full running buffet to very high standards ( in 7 years i have never seen a disparaging comment about our buffets ) and in addition unlimited tea coffee soft drinks and mixers are totally free ( which is a nice change from the £1/£1.50 that most swing and fetish venues regularly charge for those items i believe )

And thats before we come to the bar thats well stocked and totally free and its made up of a mixture of the guests contributions and supplemented each party by ourselves and yes in theory you could bring a bottle of plonk and drink us out of JD but we believe our clientele are above that and thats why its very unlikely that we would consider anybody who winges at a measley fifteen quid for a great night of fetish fun as being the sort of person who would fit in with our existing crowd which is why we remain "by invitation only" in order to maintain our standards and the Party Dynamic/
