Hi Guys. I have never organised one of these before but I have the use of a fantastic 4 storey, rustic pub, with 3 bed flat in Manchester, that isn't opening New years eve and I thought it would make a great venue for an adult party. People could stay all night so will not have to worry about taxis. It would be different as a one off to the same old venues. If anyone is up for it please let us know and if anyone could help us organise it, even better. It really is an amazing venue for between 40 - 60 lovers.

Absolutely outrageous price for single guys,as a couple I would be embarrassed to attend an event like this knowing that the price difference was so astronomical

Are you organising a party or a money-making scheme? I don't understand the biggest cut statement. It's a lovely thing to do but NYE gets busy and organising a large event usually takes more than four weeks.

The problem, as I see it, is that charging single men so much is going to make them more likely to want to get their moneys worth.

That's going to put pressure on the women and may end up with nobody feeling particularly satisfied.

Are the costs of this party really going to be the £2000-3000 you're proposing to ask for?

As a single woman I wouldn't want to be the lure used to reel them in.

And goodness only knows what the men would expect having paid that much...

I can understand covering costs but making money out of fellow swingers isnt on in my book, the costs are outrageous and need to be the same more or less, give free places to a selection if you want...but i think things need to be fairer else you will find yourselves on your own NYE.

I can understand the need to limit single guys. Have to work the ratios etc. but surely £40 with a numbers limit is the way to do it. You still win as there are only 20 places so they will pre-book.

We won't be there anyway NYE plans were made in August.

Excuse me while I try to stop laughing...

So, some Manc chancer says he has a venue on NYE that would be shut anyway. '..has the use of..'

He's never organised anyhting like this before.

He wants help.

Implies there's a 'cut'.

Expects people to part with their hard-earned.

Either his numeric keys are f#cked or he's trying to find only the most gullible guys in the land....

Let me think about this one for a nano-second.

Naaaah - not for me.

Thanks.

Hmm hadn't thought of that angle, OK We are organising a NYE party at undisclosed address, Single women free, couples and single males £20 first come first served reservation by advance payments to this PO box... that's Xmas paid for

I am sure the OP is honest, but miss led by the expectation that single males are used to overpaying for clubs.

Still not available though.

Righto I got the feedback. The price for single males was based on the fact that most swingers clubs charge £50 a year membership and £40 on new years entrance fee. Thats is without food and drink. I was intending spending around £500 on food and drink plus cost of chef and around about £1500 installing stocks, cross, swing, hired jacuzzi etc so yup quite a bit of cost involved. In that case may I propose single guys at £50 and are selected by the couples attending either as recommended playmates or by photo selection. I'm not looking to make money but to be good it will cost. Unsurprisingly the only replies I have had so far from other ads is from single guys wanting to come, so you can see my problem. Thank you all for your responses and I would be grateful for input regarding pricing etc.

You have a problem many many event promoters across the land have on a daily basis.

I know this because I have been organising (not promoting) events for over 20 years.

Your difficulty in making your figures stack up is that it is a one off event. You also have no loyal clientele, no reputation for your events, no history etc.

Those clubs of which you speak charge for a year long membership. You said it yourself. You have recognised that you must ignore/absorb this charge for a one-nighter.

Also, in hiring in equipment for one night the costs are disproportionately high. And you choose the most expensive night of the year.

Have you considered that the day of the equipment possibly being collected (Jan 1st?) is a bank holiday also attracting a premium rate from suppliers or are you being quoted for a longer hire? Are deliveries on the Monday, not leaving much time for set-up or Sunday – premium delivery rates again or earlier – longer hire again?

Also, even though the venue is not open on NYE is the it open on Jan 1st or Jan 2nd perhaps... if so, where will it be stored if not already collected?

D’you see where I’m going with this?

Not wishing to piss on your bonfire, but there’s a lot to consider. This is only the beginning and it’s only four weeks away – one of those containing a festival known as Christmas.

My consultation rates are very reasonable.

Plus if you advertise lots of people having sex under the same roof you run the risk of getting nicked for running a dissorderly house and that is a sure way of loosing the liecense holder there job not to mention the insurance problem

I can't understand why a pub would be closed for one night only on the busiest night of the year?

Think you will have a problem even to find one party to join at those prices... for example one well known Swinger Club near Manchester for NYE party is asking couples £25 and single guys £40 (single guys members only) and free food - they have all the necessary things like sauna, dungeon area etc. and from past experience it will be packed.... Maybe a rethink an all

All valid points and thank you for all your constructive answers. I'm not so bothered about money as to have a good night. The pub will be shut as it will be having new leases so will at the time not be a trading establishment but a private dwelling for a private party. I did want to spend some money towards making it good but good is all about the people involved, not how much is lavished, scaling down is always possible. Not prepared to stay in and have a wank so let us first establish who is free. First off, if there are any couples who have not yet got plans for NYE and you want to make an interesting night of it then let me know. Once I have some input from people who are interested then they can advise on the how much it should be. PS There is a small jacuzzi already installed, just thought an inflatable bigger one would be good.

Putting the 'cum' in Eboracum

I'm just wondering about the venue. How come, if its between leases, it is available? Are the utilities connected? Are the police aware that it will be in use that night? What about the neighbours? Drinks licence? Food provision certificate? What happens if there is an accident or illness?

I know all these problems can crop up at a private party but they don't usually charge club prices. There is a reason clubs charge what they do - legal stuff!

The insurance is in place for an entertainment venue and drinks licences and all other licences are in place even though it won't be necessary as no drink is being sold. All utilities are connected. The venue used to charge for live bands and exclusive parties. This would just be a different type of party with different people. Hope that answers a few questions. Could even make it a bring your own booze affair and just charge £15- £20 it's up to you guys.

Dont want to pee on your bonfire and add to the intelligent reasons why you shouldnt go through with this venture, but you are offering a 'rustic pub on four floors' as a one off venue for a swingers party and you say that there is insurance covering entertainment? dont you supose that the insurance company never had swinging as part of mainstream pub entertainment and would require a risk assessment, especially if upper floors are normally used as more residential rather than public areas, you see the problem is that in an emergency everyone would need to evacuate in a hurry,.. it has to be fit for purpose and im sure the fire service would want to have some sort of input too.

Without resolving these issues including all of the above previous suggestions by members I wouldn't put a toe over the threshold, you need to consider your liabilities in this if anything goes wrong and possibly losing your liberty if you don't have the proper licences in place....... please leave it alone, just get out new year and have fun...

So if you're not selling booze, why are you charging a higher admission fee?

The booze would have been included. Seems like there are too many issues to resolve to be legit so will shelve the idea and invite a few friends round for an orgy instead. Group sex anyone.

Love forums, always get interesting response and the sound of reason.
