Hello fellow fabster's.

After all to long in hibernation, we'd like to kick off a social meet and greet for fellow swingers new and old in the Durham + Teesside area.

The event will be hosted by ourselves and semi co hosted in part by"angelfire2020". The current plan is to assume restriction easing happens next month and we can all mingle in August. Should this not happen, the event will be moved to later in the year.

This is our first crack at hosting a social event so we hope to not disappoint.

The current plan is to meet as a pre designated bar at a set time on the 7th. However, if we get enough people showing interest, we may be in a position to to arrange a more private venue.

The intention of the evening is for couples and singles, new and old alike to meet and mingle. What you do after that is up to you

If you wish to attend, please post your fab name here to add your name to the list and exactly how many of you are attending.

The list is restricted to people with at least one form of verification on their account (so you must at least be photo of webcam verified) and the single guys list may be limited to maintain numbers.

So lets get the party started!

We will post a list of hotels in Darlington when we can get on the pc and compile a list (sometime in the next 24 hours I hope).

However we would suggest everyone holds off till at least the 19th of July before booking any hotel if only due to the fact a covid shaped spanner could get thrown into this socials works. Obviously we hope this isnt the case but best to acknowledge fact that it could happen.

Depends on numbers attending. At the moment (or worse case scenario), it's a pub crawl but if we get a lot more people we will switch it to a venue.

Problem with the later is lockdown not being eased so kinda in the air for a couple more weeks I'm afraid.

Right....

Little update for those who want it as so much has been in the air till this week.

As of this week everything is "supposed" to be back to normal (but we all know it's not really) but this was the week we where waiting for to cement plans and to start speaking to venues.

As per our original post, nothing has changed. The social will be going ahead on the 7th and we do have a "usually quiet" bar in mind as a meeting point. This is the absolute worst case scenario for the evening. Meeting at the bar we have in mind between a given timeslot and the details of which will be mailed to everyone the week running up to the social.

However the list has grown somewhat and we are now trying to get somewhere more private for the evening rather than a generic pub crawl. Unfortunately, we have not had too much free time this week to investigate options but we shall try to get on with that over the next couple of days and have an update by next week.

Yes the night is still going ahead.

We've already booked hotel rooms (as we have no intention of going home that night lol) so it's happening.

Plan A was just meet at a designated bar at a designated time. This was the original plan anyway.

Plan B was getting a private venue if the numbers got large (and this is where the problem is happening).

The issue isn't the night going ahead, it's finding a private venue in the town center if we had bigger numbers (which we now have). The key phrase here being "in the town center". A lot of venues in the town center are closed till later dates (mostly covid related), already booked or priced ludicrously to the point everyone would have to pay an entry fee (and we're not doing that).

There is one private venue possibly available (we find out on Monday) but it's a couple of miles out the town center and if people are coming from out of town may be a bit hard to find "if" they don't know the town well enough but it is at least a private room and has a bar. We're fine with that but we just don't know if people want to be confined to one pub all evening or if they want to able to go dancing or whatever.

We've already booked hotel rooms (as we have no intention of going home that night lol) so it's happening.

Plan A was just meet at a designated bar at a designated time. This was the original plan anyway.

Plan B was getting a private venue if the numbers got large (and this is where the problem is happening).

The issue isn't the night going ahead, it's finding a private venue in the town center if we had bigger numbers (which we now have). The key phrase here being "in the town center". A lot of venues in the town center are closed till later dates (mostly covid related), already booked or priced ludicrously to the point everyone would have to pay an entry fee (and we're not doing that).

There is one private venue possibly available (we find out on Monday) but it's a couple of miles out the town center and if people are coming from out of town may be a bit hard to find "if" they don't know the town well enough but it is at least a private room and has a bar. We're fine with that but we just don't know if people want to be confined to one pub all evening or if they want to able to go dancing or whatever.

So how are you guys getting on with the arrangements?
