I'm guessing you had to write in cursive in school, in cursive you write the 'o' anti clockwise. Maybe a habit you got from there | |||

I used to do the figure 8, but changed after seeing a teacher do it that I fancied, the old way feels scrawny. I always make the bottom zero a bit bigger too and flatten them both a little | |||
