near the sounds of the wimborne quarter jack!

First win for the Williams F1 team for many years and the first ever by a Venusualan driver but the whole thing sadly marred by a fire in the pits that has injured 9 people. Let`s hope all injured recover quickly with no lasting effects.

Not sure what started the fire but it quite extensive. Burnt out one car, not the winning one though and it could have been a whole lot worse as most of the team were outside having a celebratary photo taken. Some personel from adjoining teams were among the injured as they helped with the blaze. Could have been very nasty.

they think a "KIRS" eletrical unit sparked up and caused something flamable in the back of the pit to ignite thus causing a huge fireball.....

it looked awful...

KERS unit = Kinetic Energy Recovery System. A unit that harnesses electricity to give extra power when demanded. Can store astonishing amounts of power and can be lethal to humans if in contact.

Yeah you have to wear insulating gloves when around the units. Very dangerous piece of kit.

in other motorsports news... absolutely shocked to hear about the death of england international speedway rider Lee Richardson at a meeting in poland.... was such a talent
