Go to the home page, on the shortcuts list (mailbox, search etc) there's an option for the new mobile app, click that and there's a link for mobile site.

Exactly, i can think of people who work in certain sectors who will not be happy if the site pinpoints their location. As well as people like us who prefer to keep their exact location private as we live tiny.

From discussions in the new app forum I believe it will only be accurate to postcode areas and can be opted out of onsite and so won't show you even if you use your gps for other stuff.

I imagine this feature will appear when you put the meet today on your profile and will only appear to people within the criteria that you have selected. I expect it will tell you who is nearby and give you the option to message them.

a well known dating website, uses this method when your browsing people in your local area. I think it's a very useful tool for the site to have.

With lots of things it's not the techology that is the issue, it's down to how the information is gathered and stored/accessed.

I'd rather trust fabs with my info than websites like "confused" which will sell on any information to 3rd parties

I see it as being deceive and it will unsettle some. Surely if you want to give someone your location you will do so rather than being it done for you. I will be interested to see the first thread going up about a spouse turning up where their partner is cheating on them having left the phone on.

If the site doesn't have an opt out it's putting it's users at risk.

It needs to steer clear of turning into facebook and concentrate on initial form of swinging.

As most swingers and people who indulge in similar past times want privacy I would have thought Fab would have taken this into consideration.

you do realise its not going to be telling people where you are living and giving out details,

id of thought its simply just show up a list of search results of mobile users within so many miles of the location your at.

no ones going to be at risk of that, ive used the other site that uses mobile and it just shows you search results, so instead of you having to enter your location it does it for you and shows mobile users.

its not going to be tracking your every move and be like, oh check out this couple their in the lay by on this motorway having fun lol. its going to come back with a list of mobile users within probally 10-20 miles of your location.

hardly anything to worry about and not like it will give out much different information than on your profile.

its just for travelling folk who when are up in scotland instead of england etc wont need to change their location as they will simply show up in the correct postcodes searchs.

All the ones I have seen are always 'opt in' but as I understand it this will only be working on the post code that you have registered with. So not trues GPS.

My phone has Google Latitude which is the same kind of thing. It actually tracks to our house, dead on, well everywhere in fact! The difference is, Latitude won't show it to all and sundry, just those you invite and who agree.

I certainly wouldn't like to be away from home overnight and Innuendo being alone, looking on the mobile site without realising it is on... Could spell disaster! It should at least be limited to those on your friends lists!

That would also stop people collecting friends like paper cups in a McDonalds car park!
