Apart from sex, what form of exercise do you enjoy, for whatever reason or purpose?

I like dancing, and am taking classes on tap dancing two nights a week.

I am doing ballroom and latin one night a week on top of tap classes too, however, it is not as enjoyable for me, and am going to drop that after next week.

I also like to walk and cycle with the dog, especially at weekends when we have the time to do longer distances.

In future, I may drop one of the tap classes and take up badminton again, as I used to enjoy that when I was younger.

I spent a small fortune on a folding bike with full suspension, and it is still on its first set of tyres after 3+ years!

Definitely need to get out more on it!

Not that cheap if one is to put in some decent milage, as the shoes/boots/socks can cost a small fortune.

Cheap compare with scuba diving or horse riding though.

have to agree scuba diving is amongst the most expensive sports you can find - just packed our bags and the valuse of equipment is approaching £3k and thats without the cold water gear we are leaving behind which is even more costly

lol dont be mislead, it sounds more impressive than it is.

the swimming is more like a lap then rest, a lap then rest and and so on.

the walking is around old castles and ruins and stuff. we joined english heritage and try and go somewhere each weekend, so walk around sites. i WISH i could say that i did hard core walking.

i am actually REALLY unfit, only recently took up the cycling again to try and improve this.

The dog makes and keeps me fit, as without him, I doubt if I would move off the sofa!

He likes to go out and play, walking and running next to the bike etc...

Keeping him was definitely one of the best decisions I have made in my life, even though he had cost me a small fortune in dog walking, vet and insurance fees.

My class changed the time a month ago and so i could not make it after work, so considering going to a different class. anyone been to more than one brand of zumba who can compare how they work?

Depends what you want to get out of it. It's definitly a "you get out what you put in" horses for courses, I do a 24 mile round cycle to the shops once a week and run a few miles up hill couple of times a week. I would enjoy ballroom dancing, but would class it differently than you.........Lets agree to disagree. I'd soon get you too your ideal weight you wouldn't like me for it but it would work. if you keep up regular exercise your aching legs will not ache any more persivere for a 3 weeks going on the bike every 3 days or so when your legs have recovered a bit. After 3-4 week you'll not feel any pain the next day. people make the mistake of not suffering the initial pain which's the worst. It only gets easier

Why does exercise have to be a way of getting to an ideal weight?

I exercise 3 times a week. But don't really care about my weight. I do it to keep my stamina up, and to improve my cardiac fitness, I'm not really fussed about what dress size or weight I am.

If I'm not training for a race (not a professional athlete) I'll put in about about 80 miles a week. That ramps up somewhat when I'm building up for an ultra distance race.

I've (finally) stated training for the half marathon I signed up for. Running 2.5 miles 3 times a week at the moment but that will increase week by week.

I thought I'd hate it but I actually found I enjoy it!!!
