Right then: picture the scene, it's months after this virus is defeated once and for all, we've all recovered from the mother of all club night orgies to celebrate CV (19) Day.
What benefits can you predict, in a cloud-with-a-silver-lining sort of thing?
Me? I expect to see:
Shelf stackers and warehouse staff getting treated better by their bosses.
Delivery drivers getting more respect on the roads, when pulling out of tricky junctions etc.
The greedy shop keepers getting a major bollocking from their seniors/trading standards.
Old/isolated people getting more use out of chatting online and more face to face visits.
Unqualified Instagrammers, shot down for dishing out bad/dangerous advice.
Fake news and anti vaccine brigade, starved of the oxygen of publicity, with new laws again generating public misinformation.
The Government gets a contingency plan set up, that would have nipped this thing in the bud weeks ago.
No more panic buying, instant rationing as decreed by the Supermarkets, albiet a tad late.
What's your wish list?
History says that WW1 brought:
Cameras to the battle field
And end to horses as a major player behind the battle lines.
Aircraft as a future transport option
WWII brought
Rockets
The Blitz spirit
Rationing
Advances in medicine
Jet engines
Rebuilding of economy, housing and population
to name a few...
WWIII was thought to be against another hostile nation, not an invisible enemy (virus). Did Nostrodamus predict this in 1555?
” After great trouble for humanity, a greater one is prepared The Great Mover renews the ages: Rain, blood, milk, famine, steel and plague, People will die in massive amounts with no blood “.
