In my happy place

Check your cupboards and spare something for the foodbanks. Drop it in the boxes.

Vulnerable people cannot buy extra when they struggle day to day.

Also sanitary products. Whenever I buy tampax I look for what’s on offer and buy a box for myself and a box for the food bank.

My bloody grandad decided to panic buy a few weeks ago. He went to every fucking supermarket imaginable, and bought tinned everything, pasta, pasta sauces, noodles etc.

He kept what he could store, and gave left overs to my mum and dad. Who kept what they could store, and gave their left overs to me. THREE FUCKING HUGE BAGS. No need at all. I dread to think how much he actually fucking bought if this is the left overs from the left overs!!

So yeah. We took most of it to the food banks.

(He’s my dads dad, and my dad is biologically my step dad. So we ain’t genetically related, thank fuck. I’m surprised he doesn’t have a bunker to live in during these times)

I've had to post some penne pasta to my mate in Portsmouth. As her son is severely autistic and will only eat penne. It's distressing enough for him at the moment as it is. I'd rather go without than watch him get upset. People are idiot's!

I was reading how food banks are struggling.

People are mostly buying for themselves at present. Plus staffing is difficult.

A perfect storm.

I am a large share holder in a well known Supplement Company, and after an appeal by food banks in my home area, on tuesday they received 3000 meal replacement sachets from us, that is 750 meals to a family of four and at least provides a balanced meal.

Nice one. I don't think the government is going to step in. Local businesses and local people are all that's there...
