Already reports of "people" doing it, taking money and bank cards from those in need to go buy shopping... and well I'm sure you can work out the rest.

Indeed. I'm sure it's a very small minority but that's how scams work best, used on the vulnerable.

I guess the best option is to make it clear you would be using your own money to buy the items etc and they can pay you back whenever and however they can without them being taken advantage of.

Yeah. Most of my road know me anyway. I’d say 80% are over 70.
