..e.g. if you were excluded by your parents or the school didn't offer it (gonna guess you know it works now if you're on here, so no spoilers).

How did you find out what sex was? Was it before your first time? If not, how did that go?

Do you know I have no idea. I think a combination of older sisters, reading books and Just 17 magazine and having randy pets?

Ditto. I learned on the job so to speak.

Because I lost my virginity with a Catholic virgin and contraception was considered forbidden we decided to do the deed while she was on her period. What a bloody mess that was and in my Mum and Dad’s bed while they were on holiday. Thankfully we had the foresight to put a towel on the bed

Sort of indirectly answering this one.

My parents gave me a book on human anatomy in early primary school, didn't talk about it. I knew the bare basic facts quite early.

My first sex ed came at 14. I was at a very religious school, and the gist was that women were to guard their modesty and until marriage virginity was a huge part of your worth. That we wouldn't enjoy sex, but we'd want to please our husbands and have children. (I don't know what the boys were told)

We were also told that any misbehaviour from boys or men that related to their thoughts on our bodies or sexuality was our fault. It was our destiny, as Eve had caused Adam to sin in Genesis. We were the daughters of Eve.

... It took a lot of work and years to undo that massive, massive head fuck.

I left school when I was 11 and had no sex education at all.

I think I must of first clicked about sex when watching movies and glancing up at the top shelf magazines.

After that I was always on the look out for grattan catalogues.

Religion is a big head fuck. It use to affect me and put me off from having sex. It still affects me now.

East Sussex

We had sex ed at school but they might as well not have bothered. It consisted of a red faced p.e teacher drawing a diagram on the board and film made in the 50s in which a girl was called home from school because her mum was having a baby.

Northampton Somewhere

I think we were given a book to look at in 5th year of high school by a male biology teacher.

My female cousin taught me how to kiss

My eldest sister told me about periods and gave me a bag of sanitary products.

The rest I had to find out by myself.

Sex education in schools these days ~ what a relief. Although I do remember being a bit shocked when I went along to watch the video that they were going to show to my daughter's class. I mean do 11 year olds need to know about the clit??

Didn't really learn till I had sex. I remember the first time thinking is that it. Didn't get anything from it. Then the second time with the same boy I bled and it hurt....I assumed I had come on my period...he was freaking out...I didn't know anything about the hymen and that it can bleed when broken.

He dumped me for being disgusting bleeding on him

Central

We talked amongst friends and the school virgin teachers played some films and talked just about biological reproduction. Family were fine and talked but we never had isolated sex lessons as such. Then learned more on the job.

I must say that I was well versed at the art of titting up and fingering by the time I first had sex, after a considerable number of years of practice. Still stands me in good stead

Adults that do this to children should be prosecuted and locked up.

Considering some of the other answers, the more factual, correct information we can tell them the better!

Specifically, at that age they may notice new things (or changes) with their body, if they don't know what those things are some children are left to playground hearsay.

We had so much sex education it was ridiculous. Think about three lots from Juniors onwards.

I can't remember anyone being embarrassed about it until the teacher in secondary school who went bright red poor bugger, which we all thought was hilarious

It is a myth you can't get pregnant having sex on your period. I did it and conceived twins.
