as long as you don’t mind gambling with the weather, this septic isle of ours has some fantastic holiday destinations, Devon in August for me

Where’s your favourite inland holiday or short break destination?

A box at end of your bed

The Highlands and locks of Scotland are beautiful as long as you can put up with the midgies. Take some insect repellent

I prefer long weekends in the U.K. rather than go abroad. Average 1-2 long weekends a month

Usually it’s theme parks, music weekends, Blackpool, London, Warner adult weekends.

North Bucks

I love the bustle of London for a weekend.

But as a country lad I truly love places like Dartmoor and the Peak District where I can wander with the dogs and when the inevitable rain comes I can dive into a lovely country pub.

I'll always have a fondness for Scotland (Edinburgh, Aberdeenshire and the Highlands) - especially in Autumn when the sun streams through the golden hued trees and it's slightly brisk but ever so beautiful.

I do love the Lake District, Cotswolds and Cambridge.

Solihull

A bit of crabbing and jumping off the harbour wall into the sea to cool off on those rare hot summer days.

Followed by a shower, change into shorts and then it's a Pint of stowfords, fish n chips and watching dolphins from the harbour wall with my dogs (if I'm lucky) and I'm a happy boy.

I’ve not found anywhere in the UK I don’t like. We live on a very diverse island and I love it.

Probably heading back to childhood memories this summer, taking the lad to Dorset and explore from there.... new forest, coastal walks, Bealieu, chesil beach, etc

There and to the left a bit

As SC says so many places that are wonderful on this diverse island of ours - cities like Bath and York, the delights of Devon, Cornwall and Yorkshire....and that's without mentioning the jewel in the crown of London and the veritable treasure trove of variety it offers..

....however think I'd choose the Lake District..mainly because shockingly it's one area I have never visited and always wanted to
