Good question.

I asked myself back in 2008 and started making changes in my life.

Then I asked that question again in 2014 - 2015 and started to make other changes as well.

It's an important question to ask oneself from time to time I think.

It's like quality improvement activities at work/department but use it on our own self/life.

Decide what you want to Be, Do, Have and then work out how to get there - changing your path on life and removing things that get int he way can be relatively way if you’re focused on the outcome

Depends how you define doing. I used to base it all on promotion and success but I've totally changed that the last couple of years. If I die knowing I've been a good person and made some other people happy I'll be delighted.

I posted this at a low point, and (fearing the worst) left reading the responses until I was in a better place.

But, all these responses are great in their own way, nothing is snarky or belittling, thank you all for your responses.

I am getting better, we all can get better.

I like that . It’s good to have that kind of conversation with yourself every now and then. Where you are is the net effect of the choices you made in the past. That either makes you sigh or gives you hope, but it’s true

Hugs Op. It's not always easy to self reflect. I did it last year after a tough few months. It helped me critically look at where I was and what would make me happy. Now, I'm getting there slowly but surely. I hope you get to your happy, content place soon. x
