"As a scientist I would say it is worse than flu, but it's not as scary as the media is making it to be. It seems to be deadly to elderly and those with severe illnesses. But for healthy people the severity can differ from mild to really bad like flu x" Agree with this . I would be ok my children will be ok, unfortunately it’s the impact that I’m worried about. "I think a lot of people are missing the point. It's not dying, for most of us, that will be the issue. These poor people who are immuno suppressed, or have underlying conditions must be over the moon at Boris's plan! No, what everybody should be concerned about is the absolute hell the NHS will go through and the knock on effects this will have on the rest of us. Businesses will suffer and the economy will suffer. Anybody who thinks this will not effect them has a bit of a rude awakening coming I think." Yes yes yes, my parents and alot of everyone's parents and grandparents are going to die. Children will go, and those with compromised immune systems. However, this is Fabswingers. I don't want to think about that. Is it too much to ask to suck some cock, and finger blast a bored housewife?! Ffs!

"A NATIONAL CRISIS! As the government described it today now seems to be all consuming with wall to wall media coverage! Chief Scientific Advisor stated that up to 80% (worst case scenario)of the population may catch it with a 1 in a hundred death rate equates to approximately 5million additional deaths in the UK alone, over the next 6months How much more worried are you now compared to a week ago?!? "I'm worried for others. A lot of people have and will die before their time. I don't know how some of you can say that you are not worried about it and just not care. " Has anyone actually said that they just don't care? One can be aware of it and the possible consequences for loved ones and others and still not worry.. Bit like driving, being aware is paramount but worrying about every possible or potential risk whilst doing so is a bit pointless..

"Ffs anyone with half a brain would look into something like this instead of following the media its bird flu and swine flu all over again" Is this a professional opinion or just based on a few results from Google search? I am not medically trained. I am not an expert in disease control. I am not an epidemiologist. I am a carpenter I have a small brain with a poor education in light of this I am going to have to trust what my prime minister is telling me along with his top scientific advisors. So with that in mind I check my the gov.uk website daily. I check my local authority website daily. My job means I visit many schools and large public buildings on a daily basis which means I come into close ISH proximity with literally hundreds of people, I am also diabetic with high blood pressure, asthma and a heart condition so thank you for your advice but I'm going to listen to actual expert's rather than some stranger on the internet pretending that they know it all as they have read it on the internet!! Btw a known source of very reliable and trustworthy information the internet right? Never conflicting information given here. Obviously all the world's governments have been duped y a worldwide scam and all the nae sayers poo pooing coronavirus are far more educated and knowledgeable than some professor who has been studying infections diseases for years. Right? So if it's ok with you lot I am going to carry on worrying and being careful, I will go about my daily routine but I will proceed with caution and I will worry and I will continue to listen to the advice given by professionals. "Want to know what's worrying besides the virus itself? The virus affects a species until it mutates to another. As seen other coronavirus vaccines don't work. They are trying animal testing but they haven't found an animal that is affected by the new mutation besides humans. In order to test the vaccine the virus has to be able to replicate in the species tested. Which it can't the new mutation is human only even though it's been seen in blood results of pets, the pets aren't affected by the virus and it passes harmlessly through them because it can't replicate or affect them as it does us. So the government is offering to pay people willing to test the vaccines and then to be injected with the live virus to see if the vaccine works and then quarantined for 14 days. How many people desperate for money will take this offer? To be honest they should be testing on people who need to make amends to society, murderers, r@pists, the people who gave up their right to freedom by their despicable actions they've committed. Perfect test subjects and it will be something that benefits society. Should do this with all animal testing. Seeing as government is looking to bring back the death penalty why waste perfect guineapigs." Holy shit, your saying "potentially" kill people by testing on them?

"The issue with the virus is that at triage in Emergency, the stretched medical system will have to start prioritising patients who are likely to survive over those who will die. Those likely to die is currently at age 50. Hence it’s easier to just self - isolate and practice proper hygiene. " people who are 50 are not likely to die. For everyone of every age group the chance of dying is lower than the chance of survival. If people stopped running round like headless chickens and going to GP surgeries and A&E with very minor symptoms, the strain on the NHS would reduce massively. Follow the guidance given, only contact 111 if your symptoms are becoming concerning and self isolate if you have a fever and/or a new continuous cough.

"I have Pulmonary Fibrosis so I'm terminally ill anyway, if I get Corvid19 then it will in all probability kill me. Am I concerned...of course I am, I'm not stupid... Am I worried, not especially. Worrying about something doesn't stop it or reduce the chance of it happening it just makes you paranoid about it,and stops you enjoying the life you have left. Be sensible follow the advice and don't overreact or overthink it. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz" I know personal attacks aren't allowed but that is just about the lowest comment I've ever seen, disgusting,it says an awful lot about you

But other than that I'm concerned about those vulnerable to the virus physically and about the financial implications of these measures that have to be taken (as I imagine are the majority of the population) B" What he said...

"I am more worried about the possible months of no social life and the possibility of many weeks on sick pay, than the virus. More than the virus, many men will loose their support networks, their friends their football clubs, rugby clubs etc. This socialisation keeps many peoples unknown support networks going. With this gone and the financial implications and the depression that the isolation will cause, I am worried about men I know and hope that this doesnt cause a furthering of the epidemic of male suicide. " Signal boosting this comment because it's so valid!

Be sensible follow the advice and don't overreact or overthink it. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz Wow, just wow, sometimes I think people couldn't get any lower then someone comes along and proves me wrong. What an insensitive and rude comment. I'm actually disgusted. The woman that posted the zzzzzzzzz comment actually quoted the wrong person. How is the apparent? Unless it's a friend of yours who has told you they have made an error? If I did that by accident then I'd be straight back to the thread to correct the error because as it reads its one of the harshest, coldest responses I've seen. KJ " The lady concerned did message me to say was an error "Wires crossed that zzzzzzzzz was meant for the last comment before yours not to you" It was apparently meant to be the previous comment. I accepted her message and apologised for my asshole comment because whether it was or wasn't an error quite frankly life (mine in particular) is too short to worry about things like that

" I have immediate family members that this virus could and probably would kill. It's such a frightening thought, and makes me feel sick to my stomache" Most of my family and myself could be taken out by this and yes I would miss them terribly. However we've all got to go sometime and it's good for the human population as a whole. That which does not kill us and all that. I am a tad worried about the economy and the markets though as that could do long-term damage to pensions etc.

Anybody who thinks this will not effect them has a bit of a rude awakening coming I think. Yes yes yes, my parents and alot of everyone's parents and grandparents are going to die. Children will go, and those with compromised immune systems. However, this is Fabswingers. I don't want to think about that. Is it too much to ask to suck some cock, and finger blast a bored housewife?! Ffs!" Absolutely not, but then again, no-one is forcing you to look at the thread, or contribute to it.

"How worried am I? Not at all.It is this sort of thinking that is why the virus will spread,if all people showed sense and corrected good habits we beat it but they wont" Nearly all the advice we've had so far is things people should have been doing anyway. Maybe those who aren't worried already knew how to use soap and tissues.

" Nearly all the advice we've had so far is things people should have been doing anyway.." I totally agree with this. I’ve found in the UK British people tend to practice very poor hygiene. - Men in bathrooms almost never wash or dry their hands after a piss - People in shared workspaces openly cough at screens, with “debris” going on keyboards and mice - not washing vegetables and fruit before eating it.

Will you be even more concerned in the future if the number of cases rises sharply! have you changed anything and made any preparations regarding the implications! Or do you still think that it is much ado about not much, and everything will be fine!!!! " Did you do maths at school ?

"I am concerned that when the schools close, a lot of people will struggle to make ends meet, myself included. " Yes, I think this is where the real damage will happen. Not today, or even this summer, but in the long term. There is huge awareness of this virus, and people taking notice. Because the likelihood is it will effect us all in some way. However, if the same awareness was there for societies real ills, and the same money invested, then the world would be a much better place. Mental health, domestic abuse, any number of much more damaging issues get swept under the carpet. Both in terms of awareness and funding. Why? Because we all think it won't happen to us, so we don't make a fuss as government money is reduced and services are cut. A bit of panic, media hysteria, and the realisation it will affect "me" and the money appears. It's why anti-terrorist stuff gets cash thrown at it, when the actual risk is much lower to us all than, for example, suffering domestic abuse (yes even the blokes). Maybe we should all get more vocal about the really dangerous pandemics out there... Sorry, rant over.

"The symptoms are like a mild cold...well they were for me. Oh, so did you have a cold than? " Like with most mid to low viruses, symptoms are varied from person to person. Generally symptoms caused by a virus are caused by the body immune system fighting the virus, not caused by the virus itself. Some people will seem to have little more than a cold, some people will be stuck in bed with lack of energy, and some will have critical reactions and need medical assistance.
