There is no one in the waiting room at the docs no one been in here for the past ten minutes so why is my appointment still late in seeing me whyyyy

They've all gone home.

They're filling out paperwork that you can't see them doing.

They're on the shitter, even doctors are allowed to have a poo when they need one.

Because the doc who is seeing you has their time taken up longer by the patient before you when they should have requested an extended appointment.

Because the old man that had a cardiac arrest in his room is being taken out of the back door to the ambulance.

Because the doctor is flooded with Coronavirus requests.

Because the doctors husband has phoned in about one of the children being kicked out of school for bad behaviour

Unless the Dr knows that you have a mega-urgent issue, they will be doing their best to catch up and you'll get some time when possible. Call 999, if there's no one there, if you have an emergency that can't wait.
