I just found my george forman grill is not working...I checked how long Ive had it...1 year 3 weeks and 2 days... do manufacturers build self destruct switches into things just outside of warrantys ... clearly branding in this case means nothing....

Have you tried changing the fuse in the plug. Could be just as simple as that.

you might still be covered if its out of warranty. Some legislation (cant remember which one) says that goods must last for a reasonable length of time, if they dont then the manufacturer has a duty to repair it (i think)

There is a good consumer rights website i used when dealing with HTC ater my phone broke just 6 months into my contract, cant remeber the name of it now

Yeah, check European legislation, i have a vague feeling it's now a minimum of two years on electrical items.

I shall send you some...Richmond painless sausages! X

p.s manufactures are usually quite nice and will give you a bit extra time if your product breaks.... You could always email Mr foreman himself threaten to punch his nose if he doesn't get it sorted

Bartholemue Grimes has one you can have, if you can find him. The shit rented my house and stole it when he left. He'll be in Fife somewhere. Your more welcome than he was to it..............

Clearly if you bought one of those shit-boxes and expected to last more than 9 months, you are a fool. The fact that you got 3 addt'l months out of it is pure upside.

Mine is almost 5 years old now and, even after regular use, is still going strong.

The warranty on these things is usually twelve months for a reason. The golden phrase to use is "is it fit for purpose" give them the amount of times you use it in a week and see where it gets you. Which is good site for consumer rights.
