Are you confrontational?

Are you happy to send a meal back at a restaurant if it isn't quite right?

Or do you demand to speak to a manager when you're over charged something by a few pence?

etc

For me, it depends on my mood the time. I went out a few weeks ago and the food was crap, but I was so hungry that I just wanted to eat.

There are times when I've simply got up and asked for a refund. Lol. "Hi, I'd like a refund on the meal please." Oh whys that? "Well come and take a look. Would you eat this?"... Errrr, I'll refund you now. "No, seriously, have a sit down! Try it!" No I'll give you refund now.

I never stress about money, I would prefer to lose a couple of quid than complain but Jo is completely different and has got us a few free meals from being that way

If the meal isn’t cooked or what I asked for then definitely I will send it back and have done.

I wouldn’t say it’s confrontational, just getting what you asked / paid for

Sadly not; I’m overly polite for the most part.

If I ever find a hair in my food whilst in a restaurant, I generally eat around it so as to avoid making a fuss

Yea, if it was raw chicken on my plate or something then I would send it back.

But if it was something small like my boiled potatoes weren't soft enough then I'd just eat it

Exactly that, some things aren’t worth stressing over, it happens. I wouldn’t make a big fuss just ask for it to be cooked more or what is needed. Chefs have bad days to

I am happy to complain if there is a genuine issue. I'm also equally happy to compliment when things are done very well.

I'm really comfortable with awkward conversations and I'm happy to discuss the issue and what remedy I would like.

I would complain in a restaurant, I’m not rude about it though.

In the USA I got 4 meals for the price of one, we had waited a ridiculous amount of time to be served.

On the counter side, I’ll give compliments too and a tip.

If there’s a genuine problem that should be resolved, sure. I’ll complain.

If it’s petty (like a few pence, one erroneous drink on the bill for a couple of quid or some other small thing) then no, life’s too short.

If the food isn’t right for whatever reason I’ll just politely put my hand up and speak to a member of staff or have a friendly chat with the manager, did it recently at a meal which wasn’t cooked properly and spoke to the manager quietly he fully agreed and refunded the starters and the two mains straight away said sorry and gave us desserts for free. There’s no need to moan scream and shout it gets you no where.

I hate confrontation or conflict, & generally avoid it if at all possible. I'll often put up with things not being perfect for me, rather than risk upsetting anyone else .

The only exception to that is if anyone dares to do anything to cross or hurt my children or someone I love, in those circumstances I will unleash hell if I have to.

I work in a complaints department and deal with several a day, it makes no difference what industry a complaint is something someone is not happy about and in my view needs to be rectified to everyone's satisfaction, when I looked after several restaurants sometimes the meal wasn't to someone's liking if I was told after the meal I would not charge, apologise and offer a free meal another night, if I was told instantly I would replace the meal again with no charge that to me is customer service, now like most on here if something isn't to my liking and I feel the need to complain I will do so politely and definitely make a note on the response as to whether I except or escalate further
