Surely if people reach hate whn discussing something then they should not be involved thats why we have adults and children that is a metaphor

As long as it doesn't inspire hate. YES.

I've been in an abortion debate tonight with some guy. He seems to think that scripture is the end all be all.

I tend to believe that NO woman goes out thinking "yes, I'm feeling fertile, I think I'll go out tonight with the sole purpose of getting pregnant so I can have an abortion, it's been on my bucket list all of my life."

Free speech, he's entitled to think abortion is wrong, no matter what, and say that.

Free speech, I tend to think I have the right to say you have no fucking idea.

Why you so obsessed with wanting to discuss substance abuse. If your views are that strong and you genuinely want to help go and volunteer at a support centre.

If you discuss illegal topics on here it will encourage people to talk about things that could be subject to law proceedings and as the site is free to use and the moderators and admin give their time freely they don’t want to be involved in any court proceedings, also for animosity to other users who wouldn’t want their details disclosed in a court room either. It’s easier to not discuss anything illegal.

Now give it a rest and stop making threads on the same subject or you’ll be breaking another rule which is spamming the forum.

There is more than enough freedom of speech.

People generally only get closed down, or have their platform of speech removed when they spout nonsense or hatred.

Dont confuse freedom of speech with having noone interested in what you're saying!

In a public location you have the freedom to say what you want.

However, if it is deemed illegal, the police have the freedom to arrest you.

The point is, this is not a public space. It's a Web site owned by someone. That someone has every right to limit what can or can't be said on here.

If you don't like that, you have every right to go and create a website where people can say anything.

A couple of mistakes there. The law of the land is not freedom of speech.

In a private space the owner has the right to allow or disallow anything they wish.

No one is forcing you into this space, you can go else where and say what you wish.

It's simple really. If you came into my house and started spouting shite, I'd tell you to shut up or leave, because it's my house. Same applies here.

You're really not paying attention are you? Of course there are private clubs, and anyone can be refused admission, as long as its not on discriminatory grounds.

And in those clubs, like any other private space, the owners, or management, or whoever controls it can state what is and isn't allowed, including should they wish speech.

It has been brought to my attention that the powers that be are using the rules of this site for their own means their own gaine because people are being blocked or removed from chat because if nothing more than a difference of opinion nd to remove individuals or couples for this perpose is petty biased nd could be illegal as its abuse of power if you carnt win an argument or debate through chat to resolve to banning some one from chatting as a way of winning an argument is the problem

I presume you are referring to Article 10 of the 1998 Human Rights act - Freedom of expression.

If you look closely into that legislation you will actually find that your rights to freedom of speech come with some restrictions and require you to behave responsibly, and you will also find that there are restrictions in connection with enciting crime. Therefore, you will find that, if the topic you are so passionate about discussing is the use of illegal substances, you will find that the site is perfectly within the law and that, if you disagree so strongly, you should perhaps try bringing a legal case against the owners of the site - which you would lose.

How dare you answer me back

sorry sir

Oooh this is taking a pornographic turn it’s all in the best possible taste and I’ve had a sly peek at his profile and I think he’d get of on being called sir

If you had read the profile correctly, you’d see that I’m not into “Dom” stuff. But are you going to blame that on fat fingers and dyslexia too?"

"Hornyhappy ..

It has been brought to my attention that the powers that be are using the rules of this site for their own means their own gaine because people are being blocked or removed from chat because if nothing more than a difference of opinion nd to remove individuals or couples for this perpose is petty biased nd could be illegal as its abuse of power if you carnt win an argument or debate through chat to resolve to banning some one from chatting as a way of winning an argument is the problem"

Nope. You've completely lost me now. Can't make head nor tail of that.

"This is like giving my car keys to nextdoors cat and asking it to reverse my car onto the drive for me, he’s just not gonna understand me.

Same as the op is refusing to acknowledge the reasons why you can’t discuss illegal topics on the public forums. "

You clearly think all subjects are valid topics for discussion. Unfortunately, the law doesn't agree. The only way to change it is legislation.

The site would never allow discussion of illegal subjects, as they do not want prosecuting and the site shutting down.

For research purposes can you provide a link to the site that you run and maintain that subscribes to your proposition?

If there is a law that you don't agree with and so you decide to disobey that law, then you can expect to suffer the consequences of your actions - i.e. face prosecution.

The same applies here. There are rules set out by the site owners about what is and is not deemed acceptable topics of discussion. If you choose to violate those rules you can expect to suffer the consequences.

It's that simple.

"You should be able to have debate about anything if its your view nd you can debate it with evidence experience opinion or beliefe then you should be able to debate anything"

We all have to stick within rules, no matter who makes them. One rule on here is not to break forum rules, be banned and then use another profile to get round that ban
