A light week of running but gym done this morning. Need to get back to running consistently. Just so much in life to juggle!

Have a good week!

I (her) made a decision last night after a 5 mile tempo run to defer my first marathon due in 5 weeks as I am not fit enough due to missing 3 weeks of training from this lurgy that I am only just shaking off.

Being poorly this last few weeks has clearly taken a toll on my fitness levels and I won't risk injury or falling out of love with running to meet a deadline for an event.

I feel like a huge weight has lifted from me, and am looking forward to getting back to some of my regular run routes for a while.

Its totally effed us both up. A 5 mile run at a pace that I have done for twice the distance, and he has previously done for 18 miles before felt so terribly hard last night, everything was affected, lungs, legs and head. Gutted.

I need to give myself recovery time and take away event pressure. There's going to be other events, these things happen but it's just frustrating.

Sorry for my slight vent, you can see how passionate I am for running x

I managed a mid week run of 7.5k and that helped my park run too. I’m still missing about 6 min from my park run pb so hoping upping the number of runs per week will get it back.

So back in 2015/16 ago I was regularly running sub 2 halves but have only managed it once since (last November). Made a deliberate decision after that to stop racing other than parkrun and put in a big block of training. And today I managed a 1.51 at Cambridge and I am so fucking happy! Not quite a PB but it's back in touching distance!

Next stop is Milton Keynes for a marathon on Thursday

Where is it in MK and what time? Might pop along and cheer the field on.

Not an easy decision to make

Well done for having the courage to pull out rather than chase your fitness. I've made that mistake and it never ends well!

It's around one of the lakes. There are seven in seven days starting in Monday but I'm just doing the one. Only a small field (100ish) but by the end of the week there'll be some people struggling!

You may find the event cancelled anyway, so build gradually, enjoy the ride without the pressure.

Yes quite possibly, and thank you I will.

Treated myself to new trainers, headband, leggings and trainer socks. Retail therapy helped lol x
