Well he's an idiot. Serious do you think that will be adequate protection to stop him getting infected??

If I worked in a retail position I might also do this tbh - so many people every day it just seems sensible, not much effort and I have a family relying on me working (not "self-isolating" for two weeks at our expense).

My FIL is a bus driver and he’s one of very few who aren’t wearing gloves

I'd be most worried if the guy's name was Jason and he was carrying a sharp implement.

I think you might have been served by a man holding up the shop, posing as an over cautious shopkeeper.

It is getting totally ridiculous now...

I have a cold at the moment... a normal common cold. At my team meeting on Friday I coughed (into my hand) and was handed antibacterial gel by a colleague like I’m some kind of unclean leper!

What is wrong with everyone???

As someone with a lung condition which means every 'common cold' turns into bronchitis or pnumonia, thank you to your collegue, I wish people had always been this cautious to protect the immunocompromised!

There's a fair chance we are all going to get it, much like the flu, if you don't have any serious pre existing conditions you will be fine. If we are all careful and try and buy some time until the weather warms up that will dramatically reduce the rate of transmission.

If you do have a pre existing condition, it's all about being more vigilant and people following the advice given by the government.

Just do your best not to pass it on just like you would with the cold or flu.
