Being argumentative

Some say that i'm quarrelsome even to the point of it being a bit of a character flaw. I see it as simply standing up for what i believe is right.

Just recently my argumentative nature has got me out of having to fit new locks to the windows and doors for our home insurance, got me a 10% pay rise when i was only offered 3%, forced the pet insurers to cough up following a rather expensive emergency operation on our dog and seen two planning applications in our street rejected. How can that be a bad thing?

That could also describe someone who is good at negotiating and putting their point of view across.

Someone who has standards they expect to be met... that’s my way of looking at it

Exactly, there's a gulf of difference between someone who's assertive when others are taking liberties and someone who always wants to argue for the sake of it.

"Why did you object to the planning? "

Many different reasons all of which justified.
