One for the ladies.

Would you leave your baby behind safe with nannies or would you have to have that baby with you while off for a few days ...

I can barely leave my baby alone for a few hours, let alone a few days.

It would totally depend on the situation however. Can you give an example?

Who can afford a nannie? Not your everyday mum.

..

I wouldn’t have wanted a nanny for my children and as old as they are now I still want to spend every minute with them

We all parent differently.

I may not be a mum but I am a dad and I do struggle to leave them alone, I work shifts and I miss them so much when I work nights as I just don’t see them, so for me yes I can leave them for a day or two but it is hard and they are no longer tiny (both at school) so between wife and I we try to find the balance of work and play which sometimes works and sometimes means my dear wife feels like a single parent which isn’t helpful.

However with the help on grand parents (nannies as I think Op was actually referring rather than the Mary popping style nannie) we are able to sneak nights out for play and fun like tonight. We get to drop them off and go out out for the night and we will see what happens at the end of the night as to how much extra fun happens and with who.

Ahh context helps.

Given how the parents feel about the media, and knowing this is their farewell tour of duties and they are going to be hounded by the media, I suspect they are trying to protect their son. In which case spending time away from him might well be the best thing for the child

Not with a nanny no but with their dad yes. I don’t see my children for 3 days at a time with my rota with my ex but I know they are in good hands. I wouldn’t trust a nanny

Actually it’s not that I necessarily wouldn’t trust them, it wouldn’t be fair on my children and I’d only want them being looked after by a loved one for that length of time

People do whatever works for them and their families.

Who are we to compare what we do to anyone else, we live our lives not theirs

I went back to work after 4 months. My son also spends 3 days a week at his dads. It means if he is being watched by someone we have no drama whatsoever. He is happy to visit other people. My sisters on the other hand go crazy when she leaves them

As long as I had complete trust in the person I was leaving my child with, (which I presume you do) I'd have no issues leaving my child for a few days. It's no big deal.

My babes stayed with me or their dad until around 18 months then grandma had overnight. Felt right.
