I think there’s two side to this argument, I personally would not refer to myself as a bbc but understand where that idea came from.

Yes it is a form of fetishising as I’m sure we all know not every black men have a big cock.

However if you look at it from a society point of view, it is way to categories a certain group of male with supposedly having certain attributes. Our brains love short cuts and that why stereotypes exists.

Porn had a major influence in this, for example a “MILF” or a “BBW” are perfect demonstration of categorising individuals with similar attributes.

Is it wrong? To some extent, you find that it invites negative stereotypes but on the other hand it does have a strong arousal effect for those who are interested in such depictions.

In the end we just need to set boundaries so that respect remains whole while avoiding the creation of new trends such as the “Karen” slang.
