I have an adjustable ring light from Boots No 7, regularly on offer. Got it with points

"At the moment I'm playing with my hair. Still undecided about whether to chop it all off or not, it's still at a highly irritating length. Trying to capitalise on the natural texture of it, experimenting. I hate straightening it, it never stays and I have images of setting it on fire. My next makeup experiment will be with a pink duochrome highlighter I got because why not." Have you tried sea salt spray? My hair is wavy and a bit wirey to be honest, when it was shorter is kept the natural wave in without looking like I'd been pulled out a hedge

I tried blowing it to encourage smoothness first, which works for a bob but doesn't now. I use lots of anti frizz stuff. Air drying gives the least frizzy effect, but the waves are limp. I'm trying to encourage the wave. Insert rabbit hole of curly hair research here.

"Skin care I love Liz Earle cleanse and polish also her super balm is great for tonnes of things from lips to cuticles. Just picked up a new mascara recently think it’s L’Oréal called ‘bambi eyes’ which is great as I’ve not the thickest of lashes." Have you tried the Superdrug Vitamin E version? It's meant to be a dupe.

Found a lot of the anti fizz stuff left my hair limp. Some hair mouse is good as long as you don't go overboard also, too much pulls the waves out

"Oh I love these threads! I've found a brilliant lipgloss that really lasts thanks to Goodnitegirl's post in an earlier one, some epic mascara... Soooo, I'm going to be attempting to do my first smokey eye soon. Are there any palettes anyone would recommend? Particularly good pigmentation. I've not worn eyeshadow for a long time and part of me is tempted to go to a makeup counter but I'm a bit time poor so any advice about brands to have a look out for would be gratefully received." Huda Beauty for your skin tone. Expensive but really worth it.

Colour scheme? (Not all smokey eyes are black) Budget? All brands have hit and miss products. "Can anyone recommend a foundation for combination skin? I can bad dry patches on my skin at this time of year, all foundations I've tried so far look awful, so I just avoid it " Unfortunately foundation can only do so much - look at your skincare to treat the dry patches. The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid is an easy recommendation.

"No budget, colour wise I was thinking possibly copper, rose gold, brown shades? Huda Beauty is a great shout, thanks Incandescent, I might see if I can pop into Mancs tomorrow." I'm not sure about palettes they have for it, but if by no budget you really mean no budget, check out Pat McGrath. Their eyeshadow is insanely good (but prices... yeah. A single is £25, full size palette over £100). Huda tend to do well in reviews but there's some misses in there. Be wary of pressed glitter: it's a newish trend in eyeshadow. Not all of it is eye safe per the FDA (EU regulations are different, but most of the beauty media I consume is American. And plastic particles in the eye are possible) If you're prepared to wait and pay customs charges, Colour Pop also do really well. Don't forget your eye primer.

Im sick to death of going through acres of makeup remover pads and micellar water" Purito do a fantastic cleansing balm, it removes make up and sun cream but keeps fragrance to a minimum which lessons irritation. I wouldn’t recommend facial wipes as they have been proven to pull at the skin which can cause premature ageing (also not great for the environment). I have sensitive skin but when I use this paired with the cerave cleanser it works a treat.

I can bad dry patches on my skin at this time of year, all foundations I've tried so far look awful, so I just avoid it " I suffer from this during autumn and winter as well, I have been using Cerave moisturising cream (the one in a tub rather than a tube) and L’Oréal true match foundation. I pretty sure it’s the moisturiser that has calmed my skin down though so I would recommend.

"Fake eyelashes.. Okay so I'm getting better at putting them on but still.. Its not easy and I don't get it right first time which is an utter pain. Any tips? Xx" The best tips I ever received... Don't be afraid to trim the inner corners down. I trim just under 1cm off mine and just make sure I wear a black liner and put mascara on my inner lashes. Leave the glue to almost dry before attempting to stick them on. Wet glue just makes them ping off and gets everywhere if you've not got a steady hand. I also go over mine with tweezers to clamp them to my own lashes (especially on the inner corners) Ultimately, practice makes perfect. I find some lashes easier than others to work with x

Actually looks in better condition now I've stopped fighting it and embracing it's natural state, white hairs and all " Treated "normally" my hair has a bit of a bend to it, won't hold being straightened, and is frizzy. Plopping without any other changes produces somewhere between high level waves and low level curls. I think if I make more changes I might actually have curly hair.

"Does anyone have any tips for flakey nails? My index and middle fingernails have been peeling at the top for ages now. I've tried Cutex recovery oil and various hardeners, but can't seem to solve it. Wondering if I might be missing something in my diet (I'm mostly vegan but take multi-vitamin + enriched milk alternatives). I don't, I'm afraid, but my suspicion is to agree that diet/supplementation might be at the root of it. Yeah, my diet's pretty healthy but I think I'm going to have to investigate specific supplements. I thought it might be impact trauma related (these are the ones I'm always knocking on things and the others don't seem to suffer) but they definitely should be stronger! You could try OPI nail envy..worked on my crappy nails and comes in 2 finishes and also colour now and invest in a good quality glass nail file as it doesnt split the nail and let moisture in to separate the nail layers making the nail stronger also avoplex nail oil for the nail bed. Although not prob the cheapest solution but it works and you can find nail envy and OPI products in certain outlets now Ooh, thank you! I just use nail clippers and emery boards so will invest in a good quality file... I like OPI polishes so will definitely check that out." I have a large nails inc salon size file from debenhams nail bar and a smaller handbag one by leighton denny if this helps to point you in the right direction..worth the money and you wash them under the tap and will have then forever.

The sheet ones have definitely taken off, Korean skincare etc. Some of the pricier brands do tubes. If the sheet ones work then more power to you! I just find them messy and they seem to have too much product in them.

I've found gradual improvement with mild chemical exfoliant. I don't use the regular stronger stuff, as my skin is pretty sensitive.

"Anyone on here dermaplane? Very tempted , also getting sucked into the idea of dermarolling" Can’t help with dermaplaning, but I’ve had two sessions of dermarolling and can see a huge difference this time. Pores are barely visible, skin incredibly smooth, lots of comments. My skin seems to be drinking up whatever I put on it, which is now Vitamin C moisturiser by the bucketload. It did peel 2 days after, which was awesome to have to explain to my fwb after a vigorous session...the sweat and exertion seemed to trigger it. So awkward

One thing about makeup is individual style that it gives you. If you walk into the cosmetics dept in say boots and they stop you to see how your put together, you’ve either got it so right there jealous.... or pantomime beckons!

"Anyone on here dermaplane? Very tempted , also getting sucked into the idea of dermarolling" I LOVE dermaplane treatments. My skin glows afterwards and my makeup just seems to go on so much better. I've had some dermarolling in conjunction with PRP. Pretty much got rid of acne scarring on my cheeks. I keep up with PRP treatments every 6-9 months

The certainly look a bit fuller but I'm not sure it's something I'd have done regular. Just a similar effect to brushing up brows with a brow gel or soap. The lash lift is fab. I've got stubby little light brown lashes and they're now curled and black. Really opened up my eyes
