Would you tread on your dying granny to get what you want?

Or are you the sort who puts others first...maybe at the detriment of yourself?

Do the end results justify the means?

I'm somewhere in the middle for most things but I don't know how I'd react in extreme circumstances.

In a town full of colours

That's an Interesting subject

I'm in the middle and fluctuate more to detrimental than the other, but I am hard headed and very decisive once my options are infront of me but not at the cost of family and close friends...

I put others first, always have.

I'm slowly learning to put my own oxygen mask on first.

Alot of people take the piss out of a kind heart.

I put others before myself - giver not a taker

I have always put others first, still do most of the time. Often to my own detriment. But I'm working hard on making myself a priority & learning that is is OK to say no to people. It's hard to change the habits of a lifetime though.

I put myself first if I know what the other person is asking of me will break me or genuinely impact badly on my psyche, but even then I will try to come to a compromise.

However, if someone is a complete tool and I believe their intentions to be bad ones towards me, I WILL throw them under the bus.

Other than that, be a good person and I'll move mountains for ya.

A little but of A and a little bit if B.

For small everyday things I tend to put other people first they are easy wins.

In really life altering situations I am a big more practical and self centered

I think a person generally feels better when they've done good. Whereas greed breeds guilt. So, in a way, being good to others is being good to yourself, plus they're likely to help lift you up too when you're in need.... ....peace innit....

To my eternal shame I missed my Granny passing and have felt guilty of it ever since.

Although she would tell me to man up I’m sure.

So no I would sit by my Granny and talk bollocks until she left me.

I can’t abide people who shit on others to get ahead. Sadly in my line of work it’s prevalent.

Some and some. People who are close to me and know me well, know I will be there for them in what ever way I can , regardless of my own situation. These same people also know I do not suffer fools and to borrow a phrase used previously in this thread, would have no conscience in ‘throwing them under the bus’.

There and to the left a bit

I always have put others first - often to my own detriment and often feel guilty on the occasions I do take a stance in favour of what I want, even if I have absolutely no need to feel that way.

It's something I have become more conscious of in recent years and try to manage better but even so struggle with at times

The second type. Probably too much so, some of the shit from the last two or three years has done me no good. But I'd rather be like i am and feel that on balance i contribute to making the universe a better place, than the alternative.

I have a switch. I'm trying to train myself out of the doormat thing, but my default is to be giving, and always will be.

It takes an awful lot to flick my switch... but if you do, may God have mercy on your wretched soul.

All situational and no one situation will have the same decision made by myself.

Would I sacrifice a loved one to get what I want? No.

Would I sacrifice myself to give somebody else what they want? No.

I've put myself out for other people more times than I can count, I've also done lots of selfish things.

Fuck either or, fuck black and white, fuck good and evil, fuck extremes.

I’m a reformed people pleaser. I’ve not got to the point where I would describe myself as very selfish. But I have learned the value of selfish behaviour and assert my needs and wants more clearly now when I know what they are. It doesn’t mean that they are met, but it does mean that I have expressed them. If I have to find alternative ways of getting them met, I do.
