I’m going to be out of action for a few months & confined to very light activities. So, I’m after book recommendations - which books have you read recently that you could recommend? Xxx

The Lion The Witch and The Wardrobe, possibly the best book of all time (even if a kids book)

Also David Baldacci or Tim Weaver, excellent writers and will keep you gripped!

But remember to read them in order or series, it wont hurt if you read out of order for David Baldacci but would be more helpful if you did.

Brilliant story tellers and will keep you guessing throughout!

I have just finished 'How to be happy' By Eva Woods. A very funny but also sad at times book, very touching at moments and well written, not your usual chick lit.

Also... Kenneth Grahame's 'Wind in the Willows'. I reread the stories as an adult to my kids at bedtime and I found them beautiful, and some profound and moving... especially 'The Piper at the Gates of Dawn' and 'Dulce Domum'.

I am reading The House on Vesper Sands by Paraic O Donnell and like it so far, seems like it will be a spooky mystery type. Read The Mercies before that by Kiran Millwood Hargrave, based on a true story around Norwegian withcraft trials with a little love story woven in. Very good.

The Town by The Cross

Read Rachel's Holiday by someone I can't remember. It's a woman.

Read Sapiens by Harari

Im reading The Gendered Brain right now ... seems promising.

I'm not a big fan of fiction. Very few connect with me.
