Question for the ladies...

So, as a male on here I understand effort goes a long way, and when sending messages a "hi there" just doesn't cut the mustard...

But I am curious to know something; When sending a message that is (I hope) captivating enough to pique an interest, sometimes it is read then marked 'unread'; what would be your reasons for doing this? I've surmised there are two tactics when a woman reads a message then marks it as unread;

1) curious enough to read and check a profile, but ultimately, not interested so marks as inread to avoid the need to respond

2) thinks 'maybe' and will come back to this one later and say hello...

Are there other reasons?

if it is just the two, what proportion would you say the split is between 1&2?

thoughts and ideas welcomed...

Norfuck! / Lincolnshire

Sometimes I read on the run but don’t have time or can’t reply if I’m driving

Even if the sender isn’t to my taste I send a polite reply declining meet / coffee / chat

Just haven’t got time to reply so will reply later. I respond to 99% of my messages, whether it be a yay or a nay.

little house on the praire

I used to mark unread when a message really grabbed my attention and i wanted to take time to reply. Then i found out it annoys some people so started doing it to all my messages

Number 2! It’ll catch my eye, but either don’t have time OR wanna go stalk their profile first before I respond
