Tonight the moon's 14% larger than normal, due to its proximity. Still have Venus around, and Mars and Saturn are here too, so it's a great time for looking up. Don't know if the weather's gonna allow it, but if you're out, dogging, walking etc, take a look.

Clouds just blew from over it here, it's very bright, and the sky's blue that side, it's so clear. Had a wonderful view of one of the planets earlier too, think it was Venus - I'm no astonomer, but do love clear starry nights and the wonders of the galaxies.

The moon is fantastic here. Im sat under a glass roof and the room looks as though its floodlit...

Yes, approaching to with some 359,960Km, give or take a few, one of the closest its ever been.

It doesn't actually look much bigger than normal.

Has it's relative proximity any bearing on todays interesting threads?

yeah, it's wonderful isn't it! Glad the cloud cleared away here. Tides are going to be a bit higher too, as it's so close to us.

It's 14% bigger than normal, so it's a subjective thing, compared to when you normally look at it - if you wait till the next supermoon, it'll match it.

Interesting thought about today's threads too... maybe an active night for werewolves out there

full moon in this house, especially when i bend over with my apple catchers round my ankles, dont suppose its 14% bigger than normal though cos if it is jenny craig has alot to answer for !!!

But here's an odd thing. I'm short sighted, the moons a long way away, but if i take my specs off it looks much larger.

really depends how much light pollution you have...in cities it so hard to see anything

Totally agree - I'm amazed in some cities, where you hardly see any stars, but get away from there, and it can be awesome. This is a good month, as there are 3 planets that are easily visible too.

Was great over the winter when we could see venus and jupiter...

Venus passes in front of the sun today, for the last time for more than a century - don't know if I've missed it tho.

Should be a great moon tonight, tho raining tomorrow, so not sure when clouds coming.

Look for Saturn, Venus, Mars and Mercury this month, plenty to see.
