Is it just me or does anyone else suffer this curse.

None of the men I want to meet are ever free at weekends

Are they married / attached

Have a better offer?

Or just use the weekend for friends and family?

theyve maybe got kids they only see at weekends, they maybe are in a team rugby or football that takes up whole day and night, they maybe work, they maybe see family and friends, they maybe live in a different area at weekends and commute for work etc

Yes it feels like our schedules never align - but it feels like they would rather be with their mates of family - which is fine.

I guess I'm looking in the wrong place for company.

Making yourself "available" isn't just down to when you can meet but how one pitches themselves.

With regards to weekend meets, I am available most weekends, but I tend to shy away from them now as weekends are very precious and having last minute cancellations, changes of mind etc. tends to mean that those 2 precious days that I have off are then wasted.

I would much rather arrange a weekend meal/drink with a woman that is a friend, who I know will show up, won't cancel. Admittedly we wont be sharing a bed, but we will share a few bottles of wine and some laughter, which for me is a perfect weekend, I have spare bedrooms and plenty of wine.

Cancellations on a weekday/night, don't make me feel that I have wasted something

When it jumped from people don’t meet weekends to its only men that don’t meet weekends.

I was looking last night after work (I mainly work evenings and weekends as the bloody 9-5 weekday brigade all want to go out and be entertained then - and want people to provide events and venues etc ).

Across 5 different postcodes I could get to fairly easily there we’re hardly any ladies or couples worth the effort and they were en’t online long enough to chat with.

You can’t demand that the right person makes themselves available 24/7 and get the bloody hump when when they’re doing other things as the rest of us are in the same boat too

As a rule I'm not free at weekends but neither am I married - well ok I am married but have been apart from my wife for almost 2 years but I have a g/f and she generally stays with me at weekends. I don't really look much at weekends unless Sunday night probably like most single people I work hard all week so weekends are taken up doing the things I can't do in the week or cleaning shopping ironing used to have kids but now grown up also I no loads that do football training or management but also I get pissed Friday and Saturday nights as don't drink in the week we are not all married just have other things I'd rather do on a weekend don't take it personally

As working in events and projects arena most of my work is at weekends or for set periods as coud be anywhere in europe...

However does make good for when home and off as normally get a good solid runs of 4 to 5 weeks off

So why not start a thread asking for guys who are single, do have free weekends and can accomodate and travel to put their names down.

I'm sure a lot of the guys on here would be up for doing that if they're honest about all of the above criteria being met.

It has to be an alternative way instead of trawling hundreds of profiles and ending up feeling deflated.

Yes and no.

I desire but not enough to put my contracted work or children behind a new “relationship” I’ve struck up on FAB. That’s not saying I’d desire you less, just that to meet for the first time is have to have a free weekend.

There are other things, like driving for a few hours, that could “prove” desire to someone, but that could easily be construed as a bloke going an extra mile to get his end away.

Realism, for me, that’s all.

I'm single but have 2 young kids. I promised I would still be a dad to them through thick and thin. This promise does consume the majority of my spare time. Watching my kids growing up is very precious to me and not be at home means a cherish every moment I get with them. This makes it hard for me to meet at weekends as I usually have them both over night Friday and Saturday
