The all-important profile pic

We tend not to bother clicking on profiles or opening messages that have no profile pic, or when there is one but it’s a bit rubbish. Now, this could mean we’re missing out on some great people, but on the other hand if they’re so great surely they should have figured out that not having a decent profile pic is a disadvantage. Are we being too harsh or do you feel the same?

This is my thought process too. Though I usually switch to my slippers photo when I'm not in the mood for messages. Deters a lot of men mainly.

I mean I guess so, as if I see a single woman for instance with a vagina picture or something as her profile - it doesn’t exactly scream sophistication.

As when I want to meet - it’s with an intelligent, friendly lady. I’d assume someone falling into that category wouldn’t have their picture as their vagina.....

Agreed. Yours is very nice but had to zoom in.

I think even when a valid reason to have no public pics at all you can still make an effort to have an enticing, seductive profile pic

I agree and disagree . Crap pic plus a crap or generic message and I'd just delete, but I'll often reply if the message is particularly funny and I've found some real hidden gems this way! The type of guys I go for typically don't like posing and quite often don't have stellar profiles but come into their own through a bit more chat. That's only when I can be bothered though

Yes it annoys me and i feel the same as you. No pic to me spells out no confidence in themselves which is a no go.

I agree to an extent. Not everyone has the best camera or is great at taking pictures so there are a few people you might be intersted in that you could miss if you didn't look beyond the profile pic.

I look at photos if someone sends me a message. I wouldn't go looking if they'd not got a profile picture otherwise, it feels lazy and I don't want lazy.

I agree re the type of picture too. Dick pics put me off. A body picture with a sick on or might be OK but not a close up.

near a big hill in s/ shropshire NOT in

If someone messages me I will always read the profile first , pictures come second, all depends on the way they portray themselves as a person ,,, not all about the pictures imo

It's me. Just me stood in a kitchen. My stupid face to see if anyone finds me attractive enough to have a conversation, I'm not interested if people think I'm boring and personally if someone only judges me on a 2d photo then I wouldnt be interested in them anyway.

It's not the only thing I check out (I read details on their profile before opening a message), but I agree: a poor or overly graphic photo puts me off.

The profile picture and first sentence of a message is so important- if neither catch my eye or just make me think bore off I will delete work out reading or looking at the profile!

I think a profile pic is important. It doesn’t have to be a face pic though

A dick as a profile pic tells me everything I need to know about what they’d feel is most important!

Where the streets have no name

A profile, apart from preferences, says a lot about the user's personality: creativity, education, assertiveness...

Yes first impressions count. I dated men from online dating sites and the ones who had little on their profiles weren't serious and gave you the run-around. I'm sure it's similar mentality on fab too
