If you were short of money and then a whole load fell from the sky and you just watched as it went out to sea without saving it, most people would think you crazy, Yet here we are with a hose pipe bad because of a water shortage and its falling from the sky and flowing out to sea

Putting the 'cum' in Eboracum

Actually most of its being sucked up by the trees before it gets to the sea. But yeah, it does seem nuts that a small island, surrounded by seas and an ocean, is short of water.

they "could" if really desperate in the future turn in effect "salt water" into drinkable water... but at the moment it is so expensive it isn't worth doing......

Well, in order to combat water shortages and rising sea levels, how's about the Government (including Labour councils ) give everyone 14 large buckets each. With handles.

When it rains, we fill as many of our bucket when we can.

At times of hosepipe bans, we form a chain, those nearest the sea pass the water inland towards the middle, until everyone again has full buckets.

May also do something to offset the looming obesity crisis.

Easier to turn pee into potable water to be honest. These watersport afficionados are on to something!
