Somewhere In The Ether…

....what the hell were they? Aliens? Mutants? Or else perhaps the results of some decidedly shady and doubtless top secret military/scientific laboratory experiment? You decide.

Did you have a favourite Flump?

Where did Grandpa learn to play the Flumpet?

Do you remember the theme tune?

Insert all your Flump related gossip here everyone

If you don’t remember the Flumps, do you remember, Bod? Bugger me! - now that WAS surely an alien right?

I remember the Moomins Extraterrestrial Hippos I’m thinking...

Yes indeed; Moomin juice (I’m wondering if they were dealing in the stuff illicitly...)

Somewhere In The Ether…

Does anyone remember Cockleshell Bay?

It concerned Robin and Rosie who had many badly animated ‘adventures’ (usually involving a lost set of keys or such extreme like).

Their parents fed them an unhealthy diet consisting solely of cheese and chutney sandwiches (and social services never intervened!)

When the Flumps was on there was usually also Heads and Tails narrated by Derek Griffiths. I really liked the way he sung riffed over the theme music.

The Flumps were furry lumps, hence the name. I got the DVD for my kids and I was surprised how funny they were.

I remember that. Didn’t he sing it in the style of ‘Head’s, Shoulders, knees and toes’?

Yes he did. He died a couple of years ago. He was an excellent presenter of kids TV shows.
