Can superglue get you high?

No admin, this is not about glue sniffing or any kind of drug use.

I have started an art project which involves sticking recycled plastic to an art board. And I was wearing a mask. But after a bit of time my eyes really hurt and I feel proper dizzy.

I think it’s time to call it a night on it, but just wondered if it can be harmful?

It just says on the label, bonds skin and eyes in seconds.

Yes, it will cause headaches etc. My husband uses plastic cement to stick wargame figures together and I can't be in the same house. It gives me a headache. Do it in a well ventilated room and wear a face mask and take frequent breaks

This as superglue doesn’t bond all plastic types, if you bond fabric this can cause the glue to “smoke” a bit due to moisture content hence why skin bonds do well, nothing that hot soapy water doesn’t get rid of

Plastic cement isn’t superglue, it’s a solvent, superglue isn’t a solvent

Superglue has exactly the same effect on me though....

I would say that it’s not suitable for the type of plastic you’re trying to bond

Always ventilate really well, if you are using anything like this, as concentrations of fumes will build up. We all react differently to products, so it's worth keeping exposure time to a minimum, until you gauge your reaction. Have some rest from it.

I accidentally superglued my foot to the toilet floor. Good job I wasn't home alone. Stuck sat on the toilet trying to pull my foot off the floor. I walk around barefoot often.

The mark is still there on the floor to this day and this happened nearly 3 years ago

Next time someone breaks something they can fix it I'm a disaster with superglue and always need acetone
