I've noticed lots of people on here get checks every so often, but could it be to late after catching something?

Bognor Regis

Of course it could but alot of things are treatable & knowing about it saves spreading it!!

If you're gonna have multiple sexual partners, you owe it to yourself & them to get checkec regularly!

Getting checked is a good thing.

The point is if you test regularly you can treat it quickly and also limit the spread. Also by informing recent sexual partners hopefully the person who infected them gets treated and doesn't spread it further. It's more about damage limitation than prevention. Barrier contraception is the prevention.

Most STDs are curable or controllable. The secret is to be tested very regularly, at least every 2 months if you are sexually active

It can be with some but they still need to be managed with things like antivirals so it's better to know as soon as possible.

Why don't you do some real research and learning.

Google is your friend.

NHS have a whole section dedicated to providing you with the answers.

Have a look at the sex wise website. It will help you all things sexual health.

But basically people being tested helps stop the spread of STIs

My mind switches off with Google.

I find it better to ask questions here. It's like a citizens advice bureau here.

Problem with fabswingers is that everyone is an expert. In every subject

There and to the left a bit

If chunks of information are a problem then try sh24.org.uk - it's mostly bite size, very informative and if you're in the right area you can even order a test kit from them free of charge - results normally faster than the clinic too

The best thing to do is visit your local gum clinic to speak to people who deal with these things and find out info or if you have any concerns about sti/std's.

Regular check ups and screenings are good if your having multi sexual partners.

Finding out you have an std means you can actively stop the spread by getting treatment and informing sexual partners that you have it so they can get tested.

Being ignorant isn't an excuse. Have to be proactive in your sexual health that includes dealing with the aftermath of contracting an std. If you have it one of your partners definitely does in order for you to have it. Imagine rabbits breeding and name the rabbit STD and 2 std rabbits fuck 2 more they each fuck 2 more the numbers increase dramatically now imagine if those rabbits had a 3some or more and so on and so forth.

Stoke on trent had a syphilis epidemic, reason is people weren't being tested regularly which is needed to discover who has the infections. Even at 90 days the blood tests are only 86% accurate so the increase of tests more chance to find it. It's transmittal is from 7 to 10 days post exposure but most don't get symptoms till at least 30days post exposure and when they do it can be confused with other things. Most GPs don't know how to recognise it. It can be asymptomatic and can have it for years till the damage has been done and its irreparable damage. It can be cured in the 1st year with 2 injections of penicillin one in each butt cheek or 2 weeks of doxycycline.

It's highly contagious and can be reinfected by partners which is why it's important not to keep the knowledge of contracting any std to yourself, limit spread and keep others safe.
