Theres at least one person prowling in the yard, I can see torchlight. Theres not a lot left to steal or damage (local darlings have looted and systematically wrecked for 4 years now). Police are useless (we cant find the property is the usual excuse). Or do I just think fuck it and stay in bed but worry?

Phone police and tell them, once they're on their way, go out and tell the prowlers you've put the kettle on... invite them in, then when their inside run out and lock doors behind you... you're then free to give police guided tour of the neighborhood en route to your house

Pretty much. The house is a bungalow and the yard shielded by a conifer hedge but I can hear talking, laughing and smashing and can still see flashes of torchlight. Tonight theres at least 3 voices. I cant shout out as I doubt I'd be heard by the fellas and I'd wake my daughter and mum and theyd both freak. I've rang police - dont hold out any hope.

Well I hope none of the poor dears hurts himself whilst robbing you. That might mean you would have to call an ambulance which is a big white vehicle with flashing blue lights. You may even have a panic attack because you're frightened. Who knows?

Except it was true. And it happens fairly regularly. I've called police they dont care. They dont come near the house (I certainly wouldn't have put it on here if that were the case last night, I'd have been out for definite - anyone that close to my mum or Small).
