In different cultures you hear them say my woman rather than my wife doesnt it sounds like it belongs to them when they refer it as my? I think it does that.

I say it myself and when I can't think of someone's name il refer to her as John's woman or whoever her husband or boyfriend may be.

I went to dubai on holiday and men there geniunely believe they "own" thier woman. Woman seem constantly terrified incase they speak amongst men or whatever. Its sad to see

It can be used as a declaration of ownership but its not limited or exclusive to it.

Though yes in some places in the world they will view it as ownership.

Exactly. Our lass, our fella, our bairn etc etc. Its a phrase we use up north as a term of affection not to define property

Some guys I've chatted with since being on fab have the same mind set.

They consider having sex with women without a relationship label. But when they say they are interested in a relationship but state that it would be monogamous, "not letting guys fuck my gf" to which I point out I'm polygamous and there's no letting people do anything to me it's my choice and even in monogamy you don't own your partner.

So that state of mind of ownership exists here too regardless of gender.

They are the vows we took when we got married, so I am his and he is mine I certainly wouldn't get offended and up in arms if I was to hear someone in a conversation say something like "me and my woman" phrases like that are pretty common around Mansfield & Notts.
