I don’t know about anyone else but I find an natural mum bod extremely attractive, some women (not all) hate it, but curves, a tummy or stretch marks etc are all the things that make us who we are and I find the look very attractive. Would like to hear your thoughts/opinions below.

I have to be honest and say that I dont find stretch mark's a turn on, but they dont turn me off either. I do believe that a woman should be happy in her skin but women are so much more than just a body anyway

Couldn't agree more.

Every mark, scar and blemish tells the story of our journey so far and our "imperfections" make us unequally "perfect".

But like just because you’ve had a child doesn’t mean you have to let yourselves go. You can still be a Mum and eat healthily and go to the gym or go for walks and be active.

Gym and eating healthy doesn’t get rid of stretch marks or the baby shelf, or change a woman’s boobs back to pre breastfeeding / child birth state !

Don’t fucking roll your eyes at me. I didn’t say anything about stretch marks did I. I said doesn’t mean you need to let yourselves go, that implies weight gain does it not? Was saying that you don’t have to become overweight or out of shape just because you’re a Mum.

Some of us don't come out of pregnancy the same way we went into it, and by that I mean from able bodied to disabled, so there are a multitude of reasons why women might hold on to weight or struggle to lose it.

I’d agree with this.

I do think some women use childbirth as an excuse not to take care of their diet, exercise regularly etc etc. I do think that all parents owe it to their children (and future grandchildren) to be fit, healthy and active. That doesn’t mean slim btw - I know some much larger ladies than myself (who are genetically predisposed to be bigger or just have lower metabolic rates) who are much fitter - but I do think we should all be active and eat well.

After all - we’re our children’s best/closest example! Xx

Diet would sort a tummy though. Abs are 80% diet 20% gym.

People say ‘mum bods’ like it means you have to be out of shape and have a big belly or saggy boobs or stretch marks or anything like that to qualify.

I’ve done a pregnancy, I’ve given birth 10 years ago, I’m a mum.

Well lucky you if the gym sorted out your mummy tum you should tell people how you managed to get everything back where it should be

No one has said mum bods have to be out of shape or have saggy boobs, stretch marks at all, everyone has different experiences and life time changes to their bodies. For some women that is one of the side effects of child birth / breast feeding and nothing they can do about it.

Congratulations on your child birth, 98% of people commenting here have given birth too, myself included !

I'm really shocked by some of the replies on here..

Sorry but not everyone's priorities after giving birth are loosing weight or toning up.. and as others have rightly said, no amount of diet or exercise are getting rid of the loose skin over hang and stretch marks.

Sad that a lovely thread got hijacked

Each woman is different and how their body and skin reacts after giving birth is a lottery some women go back to normal as others end up with stretch marks or find it hard to loose lower tummy fat etc, few nasty comments getting thrown about when the thread is all about appreciating a ‘mum bod’ weather it be from pregnancy, weight, stress or medical conditions or whatever a mum bod is something to be proud of and I personally find it very sexy and attractive.

I get what you mean. When I think of a mum bod, I think of one that has character and a story to tell.

Although getting my body back in shape wasn’t a massive priority after having the kids, a year or so after I wanted to feel better about myself so put a lot of effort into losing weight. It just depends on how important it is to you.

Don’t fucking roll your eyes at me. I didn’t say anything about stretch marks did I. I said doesn’t mean you need to let yourselves go, that implies weight gain does it not? Was saying that you don’t have to become overweight or out of shape just because you’re a Mum.

No need to be so aggressive. The original OP talked of stretch marks, tummies, etc, nothing a gym would sort so the responses you’ve had to your comment is relevant

You have an incredible body!

As do you!

Can I ask where you got the black lacey bodice from on your 27 Dec pic please? I love it!

Thank you! It’s from Honey Birdette. It’s stunning but a pain in the arse to put on (it’s a corset). "

Ah - putting corsets on when you’re single is a nightmare!

I’ve had 6 babies. I’m 5’ 1” and one of the (not so) little bastards was nearly 10lb. I’m a stone lighter than pre-pregnancy and a size 8-10 but nothing short of surgery (which I’m looking into) is shifting this Mum tum.

I look great in clothes, but out of them I’m soft and squidgy.

I see it as providing a comfortable ride. A bit of a trampoline to what would be spiky hip bones!

Mum bods are just hot

I loved my exes as it's just the beauty left behind from childbirth

Ladies think they have to hide it and be ashamed but they don't. Be proud. If your partner finds it sexy then use it to be confident in yourself for yourself.

If your partner cant accept you for you then you're with the wrong person anyway.

Short version I love them!

I have a Mum bod, yes, I'd like to make it better, but self employed working 7 days probably 12 hour days doesn't really allow for trips to the gym atm.

I'm kinda happy with it, hubby doesn't seem to mind.

At the end of the day as a Mum my priority is not myself. End of.

I made the choice to be a Mum, that comes with certain sacrifices.

I gym 3 times a week, I eat very healthy n I still cant get 80% abs/20% gym? Yet Ive got toned legs, biceps n traps! Yet I still have this 'saggy pouch' called mummy tummy (aka excess skin). I also find gyming makes me gain weight because Im building muscle.

Guess having a 9lb baby, born breech n being only 4'11 small, Im proud of my body shape, love handles gives the guys something to hold onto!

My mum bod has never stopped guys finding me and my body attractive ( even though I’m not fully happy with my body). Confidence and how you carry yourself and good underwear goes along way. Most guys are completely obvious to a few stretch marks and loose skin.

"But like just because you’ve had a child doesn’t mean you have to let yourselves go. You can still be a Mum and eat healthily and go to the gym or go for walks and be active.

Agree! Mum bod here!"

Me too and luckily never got one single stretch mark with either of my pregnancies. Good genes i guess.

"An additional bonus on a mum bod, are ermmm.....how can I say this without sounding crass or offensive.....saggy boobs, droopy boobs, whichever suits. I think they're sooooo sexy, especially if accompanied with fat sticky out nipples.

Ladies, I love them!!

Oh, splendid! Mine certainly don't pass the pencil test "

Gorgeous!! x

"I gym 3 times a week, I eat very healthy n I still cant get 80% abs/20% gym? Yet Ive got toned legs, biceps n traps! Yet I still have this 'saggy pouch' called mummy tummy (aka excess skin). I also find gyming makes me gain weight because Im building muscle.

Guess having a 9lb baby, born breech n being only 4'11 small, Im proud of my body shape, love handles gives the guys something to hold onto!"

Ha, I'm in a simular boat.. Also 4ft 11.. Slightly less gym dedicated but go a few times a week...fit.. Well fitter and lost excess weight...got good core muscles.. But the mum pouch... Sigh.... Ahh well...

"I do alright with my bod, and I'm a mum. I get para about my stomach at times but that's more of a pizza issue than a childbirth issue "

Yeah but that's sexy as f*ck, and that's why you're on my hot list. x
