Many, many people believe that ‘real beauty’ should be modest, humble and self deprecating - or at most quietly confident. A lot of people cringe inwardly - and react outwardly - when people - whether very attractive or not - frequently ‘blow their own trumpet’ as it were. For many of us it goes against everything we were taught was acceptable. It’s quite a modern thing, I think, for people to be very self congratulatory about their looks or talents - and for everyone who agrees - someone else will be pissed off. I really don’t believe it has anything to do with jealousy op - just a difference in attitudes. | |||
