Click bait, mother*******

Does anyone remember an Internet that wasn't rammed full of monetised pish? OK, Web pages used to take an age to load, but at least you didn't have to click NEXT fifty times before you find out what happened to a kitten that fell in a cement mixer.

Burton-on-Trent

aye... halcyon days, in hindsight..

I was 14 when I had home internet, so there's a definite before & after for me.

I used to envy the younger generation [I'm 34] for all the new gadgets and apps and rise of ubiquitous tech and web 2.0 and all that chutney. But jesus, I don't envy them now. So easy to be carried away. 8 and 14 year olds who'll never learn how to be bored and alone because snapchattiktoktwitterinstafacebooketcetcetc. I do wonder how that will effect society in the near future.

Having said that, I think it's easier to find your niche communities [fab is an example, albeit not brand new]

I realise I sound very old-man-screams-at-the-sky luddite, but I don't think it's quite that.
