No. It’s a great place to live. I have lived in some right dodgy places and it’s brilliant by comparison.

The pace of life in the Uk is however much quicker than other places I have lived.

Not sure but common sense and logic have totally gome out of the window. Health and safety has gone beyond mad and we now seem to be living in 'where there's pain, there's a claim' society. So sad.

When a prime minister is allowed to call people 'tank top wearing bum boys' 'Pickaninnies with watermelon smiles' and 'post boxes' and nobody bats an eyelid then yes we are in a terrible situation. Not only that but he is hopelessly inept and employs even more vile people that believe black people are genetically less intelligent and that sex with your husband is your 'wifely duty'.

Johnson was our trump moment and we failed. Whilst I never felt that passionately about it previously, my only hope now is for Scottish independence as I am embarrassed to call myself British now.

Not just the Britain !!!!

People don't seem to have the community spirit anymore, people rarely say hello to each other in the streets or acknowledge each other and that used to go along way years ago but nowadays everybody is too suspicious or too busy of each other in my opinion ,,,

Then also the deterents for doing wrong are so little that the criminals know the crimes in many cases are worth doing !!!!

This..

The last election and the brexit referendum has in some ways set a tone which does not reflect us at times in a positive light, respect others will differ..

That will change in time..

Our local community has some amazing people who volunteer to help others, go out pick up litter etc as I know others do in other parts of the country..

Sometines its easier to overlook such positives and only focus on the negatives..

No, I think we are extremely lucky in the UK overall.

I think that the media prefers to highlight negativity as it sells papers etc.

There's always been racism and similar. The current climate is simply encouraging people with such views, to speak more openly.

This is a positive in some ways, as it means you know what you are dealing with.

I don't think I would want to live anywhere else.

multi-culturalism maybe is the problem their isnt the same pride evoked in the country as a result we're all too busy trying to earn a crust communities that were once close are now diversified, political correctness stops us saying what we feel, a lack of respect for the place we live in isnt being instilled into our children etc etc its a downward spiral but on a happier not its bloody raining again

One cannot look back and compare . We are part of a world now , more than ever.

We have shown though how narrow minded and bigoted we are as a nation . And the Hypocrisy , beggers belief sometimes .As someone mentioned earlier weve always been a nation of racism , right through the 70s / 80s ..

My growing up period .. My generation will die out .. and we will not leave a legacy of anything worthwhile .The Strenth of a country lays in its youth .. The Kids are alright .. They will quosh the actions of todays stupidity ..

We’ve been ‘multicultural’ since the Bronze Age so maybe we just need more time to get used to the idea.

Cant speak for Britain as such...

But I would hazard it is not the same great nation ye loved.. it is different. Doesnt mean its gone to the dogs. Same as Ireland.

I do think because of the ease of information we here so much more bad news day to day not sure exactly how much of an increase in it there actually is though

It is still a much better place to live than a lot if not most of other places.

But I work in mental health and see the absolute devastation that the government has caused the most vulnerable in our society. Austerity was a lie, and some people at the top are getting very rich from it while those less fortunate are literally starving to death.

Last week I dealt with a man who had been diagnosed with malnutrition. We're one of the richest countries in the world and it sickens me that this is happening.

"Question:

Definitely no longer a great nation.

We built Ships, (Yes I know we had a problem with the Titanic) Now we build a few warships for the Navy

We built Planes, (Yes we had a problem with the Comet) Now we build wings foe Airbus.

We built trains (Now we assemble a kit of parts for Bombardier and Hitachi)

We built Cars (Now BMW own Mini and Bentley, Volkswagen own Rolls Royce, Tetley Tea in the form of Indiat owned Tata own Jaguar Landrover, Peugeot own Vauxhall,The rest of what we do build now is controlled by the Japanese)

Our once mighty steel industry has been run down to almost extinction by Tata.

Most of our water providers, power generating companies and Rail Franchises

are foreign owned.

Look at the lorries keeping our shops supplied are all foreign built, Scania,MAN, Mercedes,Volvo, Iveco DAF et al.

Now China wants to build HS2 Railway.

I could go on but am in desperate need of caffine.

I dont think the UK has gone to the dogs, but I think its a tipping point where it will either go to the dogs or maybe refocus itself.

The UK was big enough to make loads of billionaires, and loads and loads and loads of millionaires.

It wont make many billionaires anymore, and a lot less millionaires.

But everyone will have a job in a pub or bar or farm, so I mean thats something.

We're not progressive enough, remaining satisfied with leaders and their directions, which are regressive and repressive of the masses. We're not really pushing for the drastic changes needed to halt and limit catastrophic climate heating and devastation to other life on earth. We're behaving as if we're insignificant, yet supportive of sh#t for brains leaders to face-off with schoolboy-like games against others.
