In your opinion, what age do you class as middle aged, and at what point does it become classed as old?

Logically middle aged is the halfway point of your life. So unless you know when you're going to croak it can be any number you fancy.

40-45 is often touted as middle aged but how many people actually make it to 90?

If you want to stay feeling young marry someone much younger.

What age to you expect to live to? Then half it. Which of course is only speculation and a prediction and assumption.

We will never know middle age until the second we die!

During a geriatrics lecture we were asked "What age is old?" I shouted first and loudest "30". Several mature students gasped, i giggled.

I still stand by my answer, I'm way past 30 and feel a geriatric most days

35: it’s half of 3 score and 10, when the average life expectancy was around that age. Nowadays, it’s probably older, since most people are living longer.

And 50 is definitely the 40 or even 30.

I'm middle aged. However... I never expected I'd live this long, always thought I'd be dead by 30, dunno why just something I always thought for as long as I can remember.

So I think by average age, I'm middle aged, but I do think I'm probably into the latter part of my life so I'm old for me.

See sometimes I see myself as having a young outlook, others not.

For example, my work is extremely physical yet I throw myself into it with a devil may care attitude and use dark humour to laugh at the most gruelling stuff like walking all day carrying loads close to my own bodyweight in pissing down freezing rain, while winds getting up to a gale are blowing, in february. For 12 hours or so a day usually. I haven't yet thought "I'm too old for this shit" or dreamt of being in a cosy yet dull office.

When I take my daughter to the park I'm the biggest kid of any parent there, running around playing tigs with the kids, scrambling up the climbing frame and walls and swinging through monkey bars gleefully!

However; when I get paid for the week I don't buy clothes, booze etc till I'm down to my last £300 then for one moment consider my eating for the rest of the week briefly before instead blowing the lot on something to shove up my nose and begging change for food off the rest of my workmates for the remaining 5 days instead.

So in some ways still young, others not so ha!

Middle aged maybe 45ish? And old depends on the person 65?

However I will probably hit these terms earlier than most

Don’t know how I’d define middle aged but since I’ve hit 40 I’ve become more aware of where the years have gone!

I’ve also embraced the saying ‘life begins at 40!’

Based upon comments I’ve received from others mid 40’s is classed as old. But I know I don’t feel it and can certainly party and play like those considered’young’

As long as you're young at heart and in mind, the age doesn't matter one jot. That theory makes us around 21 (shame our bodies don't match that age)

I’d say 50 is middle aged. Folks living longer and more active in all walks to much later in life.

Wrong side of 65 but still feel young. As long as you keep fit, healthy and active , attitude becomes more important than age. If you become old in outlook, it doesn't matter what age you are, you are still old.

And everything still works, without chemicals.
