So planning a trip to snowdon in mid March. Want to walk the easyish path up mountain. Any tips on good place to stay ( 3 guys)... thinking kind of lodge type place? But open to suggestions... not hostels though. Also suggestions on things to do day trips places to visit or see etc? Thanks in advance...

Oh wow we love it there, you will too. Have a peek on tourist information to give you ideas but if you want fun then zip world is really cool. Then there's so many stunning walks to go on.

Walking Taff lives up there and the mountains are basically his back garden. I am sure he wouldn't mind giving you some suggestions of walks to do that will suit your ability.

For places to stay we use air bnb, recently had a huge cottage suitable for 6 people and was £56 per night! It was beautiful too.

Bounce below/Zip world. Bounce below is definitely a good laugh (and perfect for wet weather) not tried the zip lines. Always wanted to do the electric mountain tour but then I'm the type of sad git that finds engineering interesting. Loads of outdoor stuff, hire a mountain bike and hit the trails at Coed y Brenin? Pay a guide to take you all out climbing/kayaking?

If you're looking for easyish path up Snowdon I'd avoid the Llanberis path. It's probably the easiest but is also long and boring. PYG and Miners paths from Pen y Pass are the most popular but can get crowded - great views though. Rhyd Ddu from the other side is a lot quieter and has a great ridge to walk near the top (proper path so no scrambling).

As you see both of us replied to you separately and we are in separate rooms but north Wales is one of our favourite places so its obvious we would reply to a thread on it.

The right place

I like walking in Snowdonia. In summer I would camp but in March I’d be more inclined to use a hostel or Airbnb. There are plenty around. Pen y pass youth hostel is perfectly situated at the start of the minors track and pyg track.
