Starting to suspect that I'm doing less well than i should be. Winter was grim, with a three month chest infection. Realising now that although i used to be out and about as Polly as often as possible, I've been stuck in my male persona for ages, maybe only been out twice in the whole winter. Horizons seem to have shrunk to home and work. Went for a short shopping trip in Manchester this afternoon, male mode, and it was difficult just being amongst the relatively sparse crowds.

No intention of vanishing from fab, the site and some of the amazing people from here have been a lifeline over the past several years. Maybe I'll start feeling better if the summer ever comes.

Warned weather might be the answer and you can also be left feeling very bleurgh after a chest infection, especially if you needed a long course of antibiotics. Sometimes a long period of illness can leave you a bit institutionalised and lacking confidence too.

Do you take vitamin D supplements at all, they can help low mood in the winter.

Would talking to a health professional help do you think?

Feeling similar lovely x this time of year is rubbish and being ill takes a toll too. You look after yourself and know it’ll get better. Welcome for a brew anytime x

It's a spiral Polly. I'm not good at sharing my emotional problems on here like others but I've been in a similar place, or felt myself edging towards it, and each time I've just forced myself to get out and about and I've found that being in the company of friends again does help massively. I recognise its hard though, especially after illness, and being trans and the "effort" that goes into it can be daunting but once you make that step you'll be happier and, more importantly, your confidence will return.

Good luck with it all x

Sending hugs lovely, I’ve been feeling very similar to you after a long fight to get a diagnosis for my pain. Now I know what it is I can move forward but the cold isn’t helping. Hopefully the warmer weather helps, and there’s always us lot to talk too x
