It concerns me how dead the job market is I’ve been looking for me a new opportunity for over a year, I do have a decent job but I would like a new challenge.

I am registered with agency’s and Linkedin but there is nothing about, any ideas other than the obvious routes my CV is good as well

It's certainly not easy finding a new job, especially if you're wanting something specific.

A lot of it comes down to 'who you know'.

Something will turn up one day.

Good luck in your search.

Be pro active and contact the companies you'd like to work for, at the very least you'll find out what the minimum requirements are.

Maybe be prepared to drop down a level or two to get a foot in the door and work your way up

couple, us we him her.

Have you thought about a change in direction?

Honestly and I don't mean to sound unsympathetic but if I couldn't find the job I was looking for after a year I would be willing to do pretty much anything.

Sounds like you have very specific requirements for a job?

I have become very specialised in my profession and it’s the money that’s hard to get

What industry you looking at?

Wirral

I've had more roles through word of mouth than through agencies, and I've never had a contract through LinkedIn.

I got a couple of contracts through trade shows and exhibitions.

Ultimately the best way to approach things will depend on what sort of job you're looking for. What works for me in procurement may not work for engineering, for example.
