Serendipity

I’ve been having my hair coloured so it’s taking a while. The other hairdresser (not mine) does nothing but moan.

I’d say I’m mostly positive, glass half full.

Positive most of the time. I get ridiculously giddy and excited about the most absurd things far too often. When I'm not it's not so much that I'm negative more anxious.

Except Sunday morning.

I dont know why but for some reason I generally wake up and think the world can go fuck itself those days. I'm grouchy, grumpy n miserable for about an hour, then I'm snap, my normal self.

Realist and neutral. As much as possible at least. I believe in a balance and being overly one or the other is potentially unhealthy.

I certainly have moments of both positivity and negativity though.

Life is a bitch sometimes and sometimes I stare it down and other times, well, I need to take 5 to get it together.

On the whole I love life, am glad to be here and the positives and negatives equal the whole experience for me. Make us who we are.

I'm told I'm a positive soul. I'm not sure where that positivity comes from... I'm just glad it does. I have found I can laugh at the most inopportune time but that gets me and mine through the tough times and embrace the good ones

Hmmm I think I'm positive and realistic.

I used the hate the saying 'all is well', but now I am learning the meaning of this. I, like most of us by the time we get to my age, have experienced and witnessed nessed some pretty full on life events. Although they can feel awful, I have noticed that even in (and sometimes especially) the worst times there is beauty and love and we still have access to joy and connection. Im learning to shift my judgement of difficult feelings as being bad, negative, wrong or impossible. I'm constantly in awe of this human experience. Suffering is a part of life and brings gifts if we choose to accept them. We always still have choice even with the things we did not choose.

I guess I'm pretty positive. But not in the jolly, stick a smile on and pretend everything is fine way .. in the embracing all that comes with a big breath and oodles of trust. It's not easy. It's a dance.. with both the positive and the negative.

Some on here know my story of past and present dramas so I wont take them up again, of those that do I've been trusted with theirs of which I'll obviously never tell.

My guess is that most on fab have a story to tell, we've had dramas that at some point had us questioning if our very existence is worth it and had we a button to press that would finish us we'd have done it long ago...

However we didnt, we saw it though one step and one breath at a time and turned the negative into a positive.

Some still bare the scars physically or emotionally but they are our medals of honour that prove we once faced our demons and said fuck it I'm not going down.

What I'm saying is it's ok to be negative at times, but out of negativity should come positivity... whatever the drama we can turn it around

Positive. Being negative achieves absoloutely nothing except making yourself ans those in your company bloody miserable.

Life is about attitude. Try and see the positive in every situation, not always easy we know, but a positive attitude is a happier and healthier mind.

All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. Spend the spare time you have doing things you enjoy. Go out and about where you can meet new people. You may find someone to date when you least expect it. Online dating I assume must be hard work, get out in the real world with real people.

"Hmmm I think I'm positive and realistic.

Absolutely this. Freya, you talk so much sense and you put it so well, this is what I would have said if I could have articulated it so beautifully.

I’m quite the harbinger of doom. I’m used to things going tits up so tend to expect the worst. I think my anxiety is the reason for this and since having kids i worry about everything.

I admire folk with sunny, happy-go-lucky dispositions. I wish i werre more like that.

A realistic optimist

Plan for the worst, hope for the best.

It’s worked out so far for me

I’ll answer this more seriously now I’m pretty balanced. I have wobbles but I process them quickly and move on. I reframe things quite easily and I am able to see multiple perspectives so it isn’t difficult to find a positive path forward when faced with difficulties. I’m usually able to help people who want my help to work through some touch shit because of this. I enjoy my life and rarely feel down more than momentarily. However I’m not as overly enthusiastic and positive as I was in my late 20s and 30s. Life’s challenges have brought a greater sense of realism and a quieter more reflective quality to my way of being.

I’d say I’m mostly positive, glass half full.

Im realist, however i look for the best in a situation im generally upbeat and very positive. At work when one of my lads mess up i dont get angry and let it ruin the day i look for a positive way out of it to rectify the situation.

I cant stand being around moany negative people.

Very positive and pragmatic , but also try to be authentic and when things are bad, it’s perfectly normal to feel bad, it’s part of processing it, you don’t need to put on a brave face and pretend. But if you are just grumpy because of the weather, Boris or young people - then please keep your distance

I make a conscious effort to be positive.

Come from a family of negative nellies who could drain the joy out of a rainbow, and I want to set a better role model for my kid .

Ive been told on more than one occasion that I'm annoyingly positive

To be fair, I've just never found looking on the negative side of things to be productive. Things tend to work out as they will, so I try to keep upbeat.

A mixture of both.

I think there’s something not quite right in the head with people who are ALWAYS positive, likewise with people who are ALWAYS negative.
