Yorkshire

Just seen a fella putting up a poster for the annual world coal carrying championship race (totally given away where I’m from but I’m ok with that). It’s always a good day out.

Do you have any of the ‘strange events’ near you or have you been to any?

I REALLY want to go to the gurning one and the husband calling championship in America

*I have Googled a calendar of them. Just like your all’s input.

Hiding from twats

World flounder tramping championship in Palnackie, SW Scotland. My grandparents lived there and I thought it was the most random thing!

I've been to a 'welly wanging' one before as a kid and the 'shin kicking'

Love watching those videos of the down hill cheese race as well, absolute carnage!

Diagonally Parked in a Parallel Universe

When I had a wife I was quite interested in the world wife carrying championships as well as the coal carrying championship.

The sack of coal didn't object!

I met a lad once who was wife carrying champion. His wife was a tiny thing though. Surely that’s kinda cheating?

Seen in far off places

In the Lincolnshire Wolds area I believe there's an annual day held to celebrate the wonders and charm of GMF

I've never actually attended, but I realise that'd be their ultimate dream...

Omgggggg. I love asparagus. I love telling folk I live in the ‘rhubarb triangle’ how Freudian does that sound!
