I used to be offended at messages with my face pic attached getting deleted. I’ve now decided it’s due to me being that hot they think I’m a catfish.

Are you a deleter or a no thanks/not for me sort?

It’s just that people aren’t interested it’s human nature to be upset and if the person reply’s it can end in abuse so it’s not personal it’s just easiest way block to make sure lol

Replying no thanks can often lead to further messages, occasionally abuse, and allows them round your filters if you change/tweek them.

So I just block and delete if I'm not interested for whatever reason(usually they've not read profile). That way they don't show up in my searches and can't message again.

Ok for example I tick all your boxes if I messaged a polite message but you didn’t like my face would you still delete? (Just purely out of interest!)

Our own personal choice on this.

All one word messages are a real turn off and just get deleted.

Other well written messages get answered even if it's a polite no.

Followed by blocking the sender if there's no attraction. As we are sure others do when they receive messages from someone they don't find attractive.

It depends on the persons profile & message content for me.

No pics on profile or in message & not verified delete without opening.

Verified with pic included polite reply & wish them luck.

Message with a dick pic is a block

Depends on the message and the age of the sender. For some reason I find young lads take it in good spirits and it's older fellas who become horribly abusive.

It really does depend on the person, the message content, etc. You do get a just of whether to politely respond and that will be accepted or just delete as sense will get abuse

Hiding from twats

I'm very much a delete and block kind of person. I'll occasionally reply to say no thanks if there's been obvious effort, I like their profile, they've made me laugh, etc but I'm just not attracted. It doesn't happen very often. I don't even bother opening most messages because I know they haven't looked at my profile.

It is a bit dis heartening to see your message has been read and/or deleted. Some females have responded with a no "thank you" which I actually appreciate and have always responded with a nice reply to say "thanks for getting back to me" and left it at that.

I personally would rather have some sort of response.

From reading the forums over the years and my own experiences and 'rules', if someone sends me a face pic attached to their first and nicely written message and it's obvious they had a look at my short profile (not this one, this is for organised socials only), then I always reply.

Anything outside of that is a delete and block.

I just received a message from someone telling me what they wanted from me & to do to me etc

my reply - did you read my profile?

I then received a reply saying ...... "yes it's short and preferences change all the time so don't be so fucking up yourself"

and that is an example of why most delete without responding

Mostly delete as a polite no thanks had too many ramifications either with questions asking why or abuse thrown

Depends what the message contains. If it’s a cock pic, it gets deleted. If it’s a message that proves they’ve read my profile, it’s a polite reply. If it’s just filth, it gets a swift “thanks awfully but you’re a dipstick!”

Guess it's different for men and women. Women get so many messages you really can't expect them to read all, but I do prefer being told "no thanks".

Men don't get as many messages so easier to read and reply

Depends on the message. Some I just delete and don't dignify with a polite response.

I do find when do say not for me they keep messaging back and sometimes I cba with that so delete.

But I'm also shockingly good at accidently deleting messages.

If the messager has clearly read my profile and is literate and polite I'll reply 'thanks but no thanks'. Anything else gets instant delete.

I had my first block after sending a face pic the other day. He messaged, I was interested, so replied and was up for chatting. I added a face pic and then he dissapeared!!! It felt bizarre and I can see how it's disheartening.

I laughed in the end..I guess I scared him off! Oh well

If I get a message, I read their profile first.

If their profile doesn’t fit what I’m looking for, their message gets deleted unread.

Manners do cost nothing, so men should have the manners to read profiles before messaging anyone.

If I send a message and its either deleted or read with no reply after a few days... I block the recipient.. Similarly if someone is good enough to send me a thanks but no thanks I thank them then block.

Why?

Well for a start it means I know that they aren't interested and I won't send a second message to them..

I used to reply to all. How bloody time consuming and pointless was that? Each polite decline would receive a response, some polite some abusive. Am I meant to reply to all of those as well in order to show I have manners? What's the end result? A feeling of harassment and a deleted profile.

I delete any message that doesn't appeal to me. If that is impolite then so be it. I'm on Fab for me not for that guy who messaged me at 3am wanting a quick wank.
