I had a reaaaaaaally good pair of rollerblades. The wheels were rubber, not shitty plastic. I LOVED them. Genuinely one of the best birthday presents I ever got.

All my friends were jealous so we used to take it in turns wearing one each - you’d try and run fast and then just glide and zoom along on one foot

Just thought I’d share

Also it’s my birthday tomorrow so I’m excepting seven birthday threads dedicated to me

when I was a kid we had a pair of roller skates that you'd probably see in a museum now. Luckily, because I had loads of brothers, they were adjustable with leather straps so we could all use them.

I know what you mean, I remember doing this too.

I want a pair but I fear now I will fall and break something.

When i was wee i won a baby competition that my folks entered me in in the mid 70s.

I came 1st, out of about 600 other babies & won a giant womble.

I loved my rollerblades too, and I could dance/skip etc with them on. Keep meaning to get them again and see if I can still go them.

Poor balance....did not end well for all involved!

Good job it was the end of the holiday
