Music Edition: Rock Tape Mix

Jump to newest

By *hillout OP   Man

All over the place! Northwesr, , Southwest

In the spirit of Guardians of the Galaxy and awesome mix tapes; if you were to do a rock mix tape, what would be the top 10 songs you'd include? Doesn't matter the sub genre (classic, metal, punk, etc).

I'll be helping to co host a rock night at club Sx with Hanky and Swingfellow on the 13th of March, and though a large playlist is in place, i'd like to see if we've missed any gems we might still add. Interested in seeing people's top picks!

And yes, shameless event plugging here. Win win

Well I put the playlist for our first rock night together with little help and had 21hrs of music on my own and struggled to find what I could delete to make it shorter so not sure I can do just ten songs!!!

Going to see Grand Magus soon, not sure if they're up your street?

Jaysus, I’ve had embarrassing moments not realising what particular T-Shirt I was wearing at that particularly moment. In my late teen I was at my new girlfriends house and her Mum was a Christian and I didn’t realize I was wearing a local DM bands T-Shirt which had the girl from The Exorcist on the front and in big bold writing on the back “Your Mother Sucks Cocks In Hell”, it was way too warm so I took it off and went from being the most polite, respectful young man to not being approved of And that’s one of the less controversial Metal T-Shirts I owned lol

I’ve heard them and whilst I do enjoy my Doom and Stoner Metal I just couldn’t get into them but I’m pretty sure I seen them support someone!

Yeah No1 Son has to ditch the Dying Fetus, Death and CKY shirts/hoodies for Grandparent visitation

I used to get grief for my Blink 182 Take Off Your Pants & Jacket one too.....

Each to their own, Son got me into GM and their song "Every Day There's a Battle to Fight" has particular meaning for me. Often heard loudly in my car, psyching myself up for a day at work....

Hahaha Yeah, I had a Dying Fetus “Kill Your another, R@pe Your Dog” T-Shirt that mysteriously went missing when I lived at home lol

Cool, I’ll maybe revisit them and give them a proper listen if and when I finally decide to attempt some Male Domesticated House Goddess shenanigans and get off my arse lol Will check that track out, thank you. Yeah, when I was at school I had “Death” written on the wee handle of my bag and always had to explain that I wasn’t a sadistic person it was the name of a band lol Good job most folk couldn’t make out the name of some of the patches I had sewed into my bag

I love these kinds of threads because very often I search out any tracks I don't know, on you tube. I always find something I like that I never heard of before.

1. Hurt - Nine inch nails.

2. Blurry - puddle of mud.

3. King for a day. Pierce the veil.

4. Chop Suey - System of a Down.

5. Wake up - Rage against the Machine.

6. Smells like teen spirit - Nirvana.

7. Iron Lung - Radiohead.

8. Voodoo people - Prodigy.

9. Nobodies Daughter - Hole.

10. The quiet things that no-one ever knows - Brand New.

I could name another 100 i love, but here's what I'm playing a lot of lately.
