Whose your favourite DJ or music presenter of all time?

Bradford

Inspired by an article about John Peel, how they are setting about listing some of his 25,000+ album collection online with links to the music (though they're making a meal of doing so).

So who is your fave of all time.

I can't believe no one has said them yet, but without a shadow of a doubt, Marc and Lard...... I was hooked from the Radio 1 Grave yard shift to their last show on the 3-5 slot........

I used to get up early in the mornings when they were on the Breakfast show and stopped listening to Radio 1 when they finished............

Tommy Vance, used to listen to him on my transistor radio under the bed covers at school. Brill Friday nights were had, especially when a new album was previewed.

Hairy Cornflake infact, we sent him a box from school with a message on which he read out on air, circa 1978

Peel was indeed an extremely anti social bloke, not at all nice according to my other half who met him several times.

"The one and only John Peel...how many people has he influenced over the years...met him once...he was a real cock... "

he listened to a lot of music that was sent in by 'wanna-bees' and gave an awful lot a chance in the music business, met him at weeley festival nr clacton 1971 at 6am in the morning and he was happy to chat even at that time of day!,even acknowledged me 12 months later in the bierkeller on new street b'ham but was busy on the dercks and we just nodded & acknowledged each other.
